The lodge is the perfect mix of comfort and nature, with the feeling of camping but the comfort of a hotel room, in a beautiful setting. The details make the experience special, down to the baked treats that appear on your pillow every day. Go there hungry because the food served is exceptional!

Food was out of this world. Melissa was a great hostess

Everything. It was very clean and beautiful. The tents are well structured and the bathroom had a view with an amazing outside shower. The food was impeccable.

Eine Tolle Unterkunft um die Ruhe und die Natur zu Genießen 4 Tage sind dafür Empfehlenswert. Die Safaris waren toll. Es gibt keine Raubtiere deswegen kann man sich überall frei bewegen ohne Angst zu haben. Das Essen ist super lecker und die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich.

Die Lodge liegt landschaftlich sehr schön. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Essen ist mit viel Liebe zubereitet und schmeckt lecker.

Our weekend at Butjani Lodge was incredibly special and far exceeded our expectations. Being the only guests made the experience feel deeply personal, peaceful, and intimate — a rare and beautiful escape. From the very beginning, everything was well thought out. We were emailed in advance that we call when we were close to the gate so we wouldn’t have to wait. We followed the advice, and sure enough, someone was already there to welcome us on arrival — such a small but meaningful detail that set the tone for the stay. The food was exceptional. Each meal came with a detailed menu programme, all freshly prepared, comforting, and very filling, and clearly made with care. The sundowners in the middle of the reserve were magical, and the game drive — which was included as part of the package — was an unforgettable highlight. We also truly appreciated how welcoming and patient the team was with our very talkative and inquisitive 5 year old. They entertained him with such kindness and never seemed irritated by his curiosity. He ended up seeing them as his friends, which speaks volumes about the warmth of the team. A heartfelt thank you to Melissa and Owen, the wonderful ladies in the kitchen, and the gentleman who kept the lodge and pool spotless. The care, attention, and genuine hospitality from the entire team made us feel truly valued. While tipping was not compulsory, it truly came from the heart as a small token of gratitude for the incredible service we received — they honestly deserved far more.

As gentle and constructive feedback, there were ants on the beds during our stay, which we understand is likely something beyond the lodge’s control given the natural setting. The Wi‑Fi was also quite limited at times, though it did encourage a welcome digital detox. Addressing these small details would make an already incredible experience even better. Thank you to Melissa and the whole team for an experience we will never forget.
