The garden was gorgeous

Booking.com said was a full apartment. I was looking forward to cooking as was very tired from travelling..the kitchen was communal and not clean with ants everywhere. The host told us his uncle would meet us there & show us round, which he did, but then hung around staring. I'm not sure if he was there for security, but was very off putting having him there all the time in the garden.

The stay was great for the price—definitely a value-for-money option if you're on a budget. The room was clean and functional, suitable for a quick overnight stay. The owner was very kind and genuinely helpful, which made a positive difference. One of the highlights was the garden: it was well maintained, green, and peaceful, offering a relaxing vibe. Even though the room was simple, it felt comfortable enough for a short stay. If you're not expecting luxury, this place gives you exactly what you need.

The room felt a bit warm, so I had to keep the fan on constantly. Also, basic amenities like soap or toiletries were not provided, so guests should come prepared. While none of these were major issues for a budget stay, it's good to be aware in advance.

I had an amazing stay at Villa Kosgoda! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The staff/host was incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure everything was perfect throughout my stay. The location was great, with easy access to beach. The room was well-equipped, and the bed was super comfy. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great experience. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!

The kitchen area and outdoor balcony space was great. Room was clean and had a mosquito net. Location was ideal to visit a turtle hatchery and release baby turtles back to the ocean, which we were able to do. We only stayed one night but value for money was good if you’re travelling on a budget. Local bus stop is right outside if you’re travelling from Galle or to Colombo.

Advertised as having wifi and air con however had neither of these at the time of our stay; there was a small fan which did the job for one night.

Very nice place, close to a beautiful and not to crowded beach. Very cosy sitting area and an open kitchen to use. The owner did make me feel very welcome and waited with cake and tea. Highly recommanded!

A mirrow in the bathroom would be nice

Almost everything, very nice host, big place with terrace, nice kitchen and close to the beach

Veeeery loud. You can hear people talking, trains and most of all street traffic all the evening and almost all night.

A place for convenience, very simple place and a great host who's very easy to work with
