La Fontanella

La Fontanella was an excellent stay. I loved it and would 100% return. One of the days was raining and I still felt part of the town as the window in the dining room opened up to views of piazza Kennedy and so I could watch the town go about their day. There is also an excellent drinking water fountain opposite the building and if you like the sound of water it runs all day. This place was easy to get to. You can drive right in, park and unload with 1 hour free parking. Once unloaded there is free parking 200 meters down the road. This is a 2bed apartment, our bed was comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook, including salt, vinegar and oil. The owners Anna and Alviero were welcoming and kind and went out of their way for us. Perfect hosts. Spello has been my favorite stay to date in Italy this trip. The town is perfect to use as a base to visit Assisi, Rasaglia, Bevangna, Spoleto etc. Its quiet. Also don't miss the Osteria del buchetto, a reasonably priced restaurant serving excellent meals on a terrace where you get to watch the sunset over the horizon. Highly recommended

Great location in the centre of historic Spello , easy access, parking close, very clean and comfortable , spacious for 4 people , large bathroom with bath too ! Nice big kitchen for cooking and eating at home !

Location at the bottom of the hill was easy to get to with luggage. It was overlooking Piazza Kennedy and on Friday and Saturday there was noise from the cocktail bar into the early morning. Otherwise this was an excellent property. The host left us some home made fig jam and biscuits which was a lovely touch. Arriving and leaving was very easy.

Great space right in the square by the roman gates. we'll equipped, helpful host.

Good wifi, met at door by host, very easy, quaint room, air con in Living room only but very strong, good kitchen, 550 m from train at bottom of city, excellent bathroom w/ tub, microwave, clean, quiet at night.

Centrally located, right on Piazza Kennedy with several restaurants, cafes and tabac stores within 100 meters. We locked ourselves out but owner was there in 10 minutes to give us another key. Google translate helped since our Italian was limited

Weather was brutally hot, air conditioner could barely keep up but we found a fan that helped.

Looking out the window and seeing all the action. Pizza, pastries, gelato, drinks, all right there.

One of the beds was a little too firm.
