Sundaze Villa

Hubo un pequeño imprevisto con la habitación y a cambio nos alojaron en la mejor villa que tenían. Todo ha sido perfecto. Limpio, cuidando los detalles, con un gran jardín, bien ubicado... sin duda merece totalmente la pena alojarse aquí.

Of all the places we stayed in Sri Lanka, this one had a particularly calming effect. It may have been the clean, minimalist decor, that was at the same time comfortable and contained everything we needed to put our things away and lounge... maybe it was the high ceilings and open space of the room, but we just felt good here. Also appreciated the laundry on the roof and the little kitchen counter with some basics, like a kettle, minifridge and burner. We could prepare breakfasts and simple food for us and the kid. AC worked great, we didn't use it at night, and just used it to cool down the room when we got in. From the front and back balconies we could see lots of wildlife, with lots of trees around the outside of the property. Sam was easily reachable by text and very prompt to react. The restaurant diagonal is good and easy. There are no grocery stores walking distance, but there are little shops on the main road which have bread, fruit, crackers, eggs, etc. The bread tuk-tuk passed every morning and evening, with its distinguishable song. Goyambokka beach is nearby at an easy distance. The walk feels a bit like you are going to a secret hiding place, through a tunnel of plants. Silent beach is a 15 min walk on the main road and is very lovely.

It was overall great. The kitchen was not set up for elaborate cooking, but we didn't really expect it to be.

We were in V3 upstairs with balconies front and rear. The front balcony had dining table and chairs. The rear balcony was good for spotting wildlife (monkeys, squirrel, mongoose?) and birds (hornbills). The kitchenette was great - we asked for additional pans and noodle bowls and these were provided promptly. Comfortable bed, with mosquito net, clean bathroom, hot shower, air con and fan. Washing machine available on the roof. 5 minute walk to Goyambokka beach - the best beach in the area in our view.

Maybe an insect screen on bathroom window- but there were surprisingly few mosquitos.

The room design and hot showers. Delicious meals and proximity to two popular beaches. The staff were excellent and went above and beyond in their service and hospitality. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Tangalle and wants to stop by Silent beach and Goyambokka beach.

There's not much on the main road at this location as it's slightly outside Tangalle city. Lack of mosquito netting on some of the beds, and lack of a insect screen in the bathroom window. We had a few insect issues early on but the staff were wonderful in meeting our needs and resolving the problems.

Nice location - a beach within walkable distance, a few nice restaurants around. Easy to get a tuc tuc to the city and back. Spacious place. Lovely private gazebo with a fish pond.

Internet connection is great (fiber optics with 70MBit/s both upstream and downstream and stable low latency), but it sometimes throttles down to 0.9Mbit/s for prolonged period of time (e.g. in the evening until the next day or during the whole weekend). The service is attentive (to the point of being too attentive at times) on one hand, but on the other hand the room was not ready by the check-in time and even after we were finally let it, we had to ask to clean some parts again as it was simply dirty - breadcrumbs on the table, spilled coffee near the sofa. As another example, it took 2 or 3 days to get dishwasher soap replenished.

Really enjoyed our stay. We spend there 2 nights. Big room, good bed. It looks quite new. There are many places with food around. We recommend spending some time at silent beach. So far the prettiest beach along the south coast. Beautiful peacock hanging around alm the time. :)

Breakfast could be more versatile.

the size and spaciousness of the villa was great, especially for my son. a private terrace with a pond provides an excellent place to relax in the shade. the host helped us with everything we needed. Breakfast was a great start to the day. I recommend it for families with children.

Clean relatively new had kitchenette with kettle toaster tea and coffee. Balcony on both sides.mosquiito net and possiblity of using washing machine. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit, Yogurt ,egg and toast with tea/coffee. Manager Thushara very helpful and English very good. Walking distay to beach and silent beach. Good value for money.
