The studio sits in the garden of Maguy [Maggie] and Alexander's home, however still retains privacy. Maguy was around every day and was very helpful, she  even delivered an umbrella very early one morning as knew it would rain all day.  It's set in a quiet area of the island where we felt very secure; there was very little noise except birdsong and, occasionally, dogs barking. The owner has a few dogs, however they are very well behaved and disciplined. There's a well stocked supermarket, with bakery, a 5 minute walk away (turn right at the road) and within 10 minutes you reach Daddy's Roulotte -  the raclette was delicious! The accomodation is best described as quirky and rustic, that said we grew to enjoy it for those reasons. There are many, European 2 pin, socket points (this is something usually lacking); various basic toiletries were provided, as were basic condiments and cooking oil, washing up items, coffee and sugar, plus 2 beach mats; there is also a washing machine (with washing liquid) in the  covered parking space for a rental vehicle. The bedroom, hand basin, kettle and a sitting area are indoors, with very effective air conditioning meaning we slept well. From the front there's a raised terrace overlooking the well-maintained garden, the garden has many fruit trees and colourful shrubs attracting many birds. The cooking, food preparation and washing up area is on this terrace, which is part covered. The shower and seperate toilet are accessed from the side; the shower area is part covered, the toilet fully enclosed. The highlight of Vaianae Sands is the private beach at the bottom of the garden; the beach leading directly into the lagoon, where we paddled out and spotted many colourful fish  (further out is much clearer) and a couple of rays (kayaks were borrowed from next door upon agreement with Maguy). We were also lucky to experience one of the most exceptional sunsets we've ever seen from that beach.

There is no hanging or drawer space, however there are shelves that can be utilised, or live out of your luggage. If it does rain (we had 2/3 days of rain) all of the cooking equipment is outside and only part undercover. To be able to open the toilet door, the side door to the studio also needs to be open - meaning having to go inside each time, or leaving either door open when not in use. This was a minor inconvenience.

Le logement est propre, confortable et très chaleureux. Le côté plage est tellement paisible et la propriétaire est très accueillante, arrangeante et disponible. Le logement est fidèle aux photos.

La proximité de la maison de la propriétaire avec le logement peut légèrement réduire la sensation d’intimité, mais elle reste très discrète et absolument pas intrusive, ce qui rend le séjour malgré tout vraiment très plaisant.

La cuisine spacieuse et extérieure. Le logement est propre agréable et fonctionnel. Tout y est. Je le recommande.

Le calme

L'évier n'avait pas d'abri. Quand il pleut, tout est mouillé et l'emplacement du balai aussi. L'eau n'est pas potable.
