Beautiful gardens. Friendly staff . Villa was designed with good taste - nice bed/ large bathroom . Bamboo flooring. Resort was quiet and we were able to sleep well at night.

"Very sleepy, beautiful resort but lacks a few touches"

7.0

The hotel’s location is secluded, and perfect for relaxation. It’s about 10/15 min tuk tuk away from the main General Luna strip, and the grounds are really beautiful with lush greenery and exotic plants. We had the garden room with a patio and it was beautiful, and tastefully decorated. We had a large, comfortable bed, a well-appointed bathroom with amenities, and a terrace with a dining set and hammock which was nice for breakfast and reading. The pool area was pleasant, and while the beach is okay, it has seaweed and disappears at low tide (not the hotel's fault). The friendly staff checked in regularly via WhatsApp and arranged bookings, scooters, massages, day trips, and provided local recommendations. The WhatsApp service for ordering drinks or making requests is convenient but could be a bit disruptive if you want to disconnect by the pool.

This is subjective. The resort is very sleepy! The hotel is very quiet at night, with no music or atmosphere, and no service after 8:45 pm. There's no bar/restaurant, and the honesty box offers only soft drinks, beer, and some spirits. You basically order your meals before hand and then select where on the grounds you wish to eat and that is it. There’s no server or staff (although you can WhatsApp for things at the table before 9 PM) The food and beverage offering fell short of five-star standards. Drinks were served without ice, and the one evening we ate dinner there, and it poured rain, we were told there was no white wine available. Red wine was offered as an alternative, but it didn’t pair well with our fish dishes. We pre-ordered the Sea Mantis and it seemed a bit over priced for the amount of meat. Breakfast is limited but tasty, but you can only choose one item; any additional are up-charges, unlike other hotels in Siargao. Lastly, we booked a Sohoton Cove tour with a stop at one of the Tri-Islands, but the island stop didn’t happen. The hotel said the tour group drafts the itinerary, but the tour group when asked, said the hotel drafts the itinerary. We did bring this to the attention of the manager and he apologized. The tour itself was excellent! The staff are really kind and caring and the grounds are beautiful and so well decorated! If you’re really trying to remove yourself from day-to-day, then I recommend. Otherwise, it’s very pricey for the Philippines and it’s hard to completely justify its value.

"Pleasant"

6.0

Inara is a lovely accommodation in a beautiful spot on the island. Majority of the staff was very nice and friendly, giving us great suggestions for excursions. The room was beautifully furnished and the bed very comfortable - we loved the sheets and pillows.

Check-in: Our check-in experience was rather unpleasant with the receptionist insisting on a sizeable cash deposit in local currency that we would receive back upon departure, but not very nice to finish your trip with a bunch of local currency when you're leaving the country and would be unreasonable to try and spend that amount in 1 day. He also was pressing us to know if and when we would be eating at the hotel when we had no idea yet what our dining plans would be. It was awkward. Location and accessibility: The hotel is located 15 minutes outside of the main town area of General Luna. This is nice for some peace and quiet, but it was raining on several days we were there and to get into town on our scooter meant getting drenched. The hotel offers a shuttle, but charges a hefty fee for a round trip to town. This was disappointing when other hotels we stayed in the Philippine Islands that were more remote offer complimentary transport into the main street for dining, activities, etc. Breakfast: The breakfast was far smaller compared to the other 4 hotels we stayed during our time in the Philippines islands. For example, the drink choices were limited to hot coffee or tea, with an upcharge for a cappuccino or juice while other hotels offered a full range of coffee (hot, iced) and juices (fresh, blended with ice) in the complimentary breakfast. Other hotels always included a small side of fresh local fruit, but Inara charged for the addition of some fruit. Other hotels offer 2-3 eggs in their dishes, but Inara only offers 1 egg and they charge for an additional egg if you request it. This was by far the most expensive hotel we booked, and were really looking forward to a special experience there. For what we were paying, these extra charges were frustrating. Room: It was surprising that there was no room for luggage (even upon request, no luggage rack, closet too small to fit a suitcase). No bathrobes provided, the shower only had cold water one night.
