Castle Living

Modern apartment, lots of space, very good position in center of town, near beautiful castle. Well furnished. Kitchen well equiped. Fast internet. Guest very helpful, welcomed us and gave useful hints about town.

Mattress in bedroom too hard for our taste.

Location was perfect! Close to everything and so easy to walk to all the major sightseeing sights. Lots of amazing places to explore and restaurants and markets close by.

The host was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was located directly in the city centre and evetything was easily reachable. Room was cozy and clean with stunning view of Etna volcano. We appreciated the kitchen utensils and extra towels in the wardrobe.

It was a little cold in there, so the castle vibe was very authentic. The greatest disappointment was the wifi, which was almost non-existent and worked only from time to time and at specific points in the living room.

The location is fantastic, the property is quite spacious too and as soon as you come in there is a pleasant smell of cleansiness, which unfortunately fades once you get into the bedroom.

Unfortunately the owner has been very rude and we didn’t end our stay with a good note. The AC didn’t work properly because the owner did not refill the gas. She arranged a technician to come check it out and in the process of cleaning it he made a mess on the floor and didn’t clean up after himself. Due to this issue I had to sleep in the cold and even once he came to fix it I was still called because the fix wasn’t complete, it lacked power so did not generate enough heat. Also, UNBEARABLE SEWAGE SMELL coming from the toilet, not very sanitary.

Great location, next to the castle, close to the city center, restaurants, bars and stores. The host is reachable and helpful, the apartment is quite big and clean, it has everything we needed. It has also a balcony with view to the Etna.

It is wrongly stated as 180 m², the real size is about 60 m². The air conditioner worked quite strangely but it wasn't really needed in December.

1. On Booking it says there is 16 euros city tax for two people, on arrival the host asked us for 20 euros - no explanation as to why. 2. We stayed for a few days and we had multiple power outages - when addressed, the host got annoyed that we have turned on way too many appliances and the main electricity key went down - mind you we had one or two lights on and the air conditioner. Turns out the voltage of the apartment is really low - 3kw. We were told we use "too much electricity"?! 3. The place smells like mold, the bathroom is worse as the pipes literally reek of sewage. 4. The air conditioner is not powerful enough for the capacity of the place - air conditioner is by the entrance door, and the bedroom remains freezing at all times. 5. The electricity works with the key - meaning you can't leave the air conditioner running when you're out to keep an even temperature, keep in mind that if you do a trip in December. You will freeze. 6. Wifi of the apartment we stayed at is not through a main router but through a booster and we barely had any connection. In fact the bedroom had zero wifi.
