"Good but pricey stay close to ferry terminal, cheaper similar options are available"

8.0

They have their one guest room on the other side of the house so you have the outside kitchen and bathroom fully to yourself, it’s private and nice. It is in close approximity to the ferry terminal, around 7min walk. There is grocery store just around the corner. Our room was ready when we arrived in the morning so we got the room straight away which was amazing.

It is pricey compared to the exactly same kind of accommodation almost next door, we spend around 70usd per night when this one is over 100. Also cash payment has to be in local currency (no USD accepted like other places in Moorea), but we managed by doing an online transfer in euros to their French account.

"Very good"

8.0

Muriel was a very good host. Very helpful and kind. The room and bathroom were tastefully decorated and clean. The kitchen was large (open air) and well equipped but you could only plug in one device at a time e.g. kettle or the microwave. The property was an easy 5 minute walk from the ferry. As other reviewers have said once you turn right from the main road, the road to the Fare is not completely sealed so it can be a bit rough in parts when pulling your suitcase but don't take a taxi as the prices are exorbitant. To get round the island you have to have some form of transport because the bus is now very erratic. It used to run about 4 times a day in conjunction with the Apetahi ferry but this no longer appears to be true. Contrary to what you may be told the bus does run (from outside the ferry terminal fare 300 CFP) but you'll need to speak to the bus driver direct to find out the times. I caught a bus that departed at 5am from the ferry terminal (it picks up children for school on its way around the island) but that was the only bus in the morning. In the afternoon I saw the bus arrive about 4pm at the ferry terminal (this is when I spoke to the bus driver).

The bathroom is private but it's not ensuite. You have to exit the room down a couple of steps to get to the bathroom. I stayed for 2 nights and during that time the electricity went off twice. The first time was no problem as Muriel reset it immediately but the 2nd time Muriel had gone out and it was dark when the electricity went off (I wasn't using any appliance in the kitchen and I only had the TV, bedside light and air conditioning switched on in the room). There were some solar lights in the garden so I could see outside once I opened the door but I couldn't see anything inside the room. Luckily there was enough solar lighting so I could go to a neighbour and explain what had happened and he kindly went to the main house and reset the trip switch and the electricity came back on.

"A peaceful and comfortable stay in paradise!"

10.0

My daughter stayed with host Murielle for three nights and four days and her hospitality was truly exceptional! She experienced the real Moorea & French Polynesian culture of kindness, care and hospitality from Murielle and other local people. Staying at Fare Mihimana was a pleasure, being able to rest and relax in a beautifully furnished guestroom with everything you need, and it was nestled in a tropical garden paradise. Murielle gave some fruits growing in her garden to eat in a fruit bowl on the dining table. Fare Mihimana is located within a short walking distance of the ferry dock at Vai'are which is so handy with lots of services, shops, supermarket, eateries close by. Murielle gave great tips on visiting local spots and helped organise taxi and recommended excursions and things to do on Moorea. My daughter will never forget her wonderful stay at Fare Mihimana. Māuruuru roa Murielle!

It is a pitty we didn't book and stay a little longer at Fare Mihimana. This was a short visit to Moorea. The next time we return to French Polynesia, Murielle's place at Fare Mihimana, will be the first port of call for booking our stay here.

Good for one night layover. Close to the ferry.

Not walk able to restaurants especially in the dark. Roosters. Bring earplugs. Open kitchen.

"Fantastic and very practical fare close to the Port"

10.0

We loved the location near the port of Moorea. The fare feels like it is situated in the middle of a botanical garden, surrounded by lush vegetation and with great views of the mountains. The fare offers great comfort, with a well stocked kitchenette, a dining table, a large bathroom, and a comfortable king-size bed. The accommodation is very open, and despite not having A/C, the room has a large standing fan that keeps the room cool day and night. Murielle is a very kind and generous host, she made us feel at home. Murielle and family own two lovely and very friendly dogs.

The roosters will crow at the crack of dawn. Just make sure to bring earplugs if that bothers you.

It's only a short walk from the ferry terminal, but anyway the fresh coconut at arrival was a great refreshment. The host is very friendly and passed by several times for a little chat. As the temperature cools down in the evening it is perfect for sleeping with open windows. Everything was very clean, but as the kitchen is in an open area expect some insects around.
