Red Submarine

館内は、マナーの、良い方が多いのか、共有スペースも、ありなのに驚くほど静かで、整然としてた。

この時は、街の小祭りがあったとかで、夜中パトカーや、救急車等の館外の、音が多くて眠りにくかった。

This is a small property with an interesting concept. The place was clean, and I really liked the common kitchen area — you can bring your own bento or food to eat there. It’s well equipped with a microwave, cutlery, and a kettle, making it a nicely furnished space. While the staff aren’t very conversant in English, they provided an introduction to the premises in English on an iPad. In addition to the shower facilities in the rooms, you can also use the public bath / large communal bath area, which includes a main bath, a cold bath, and a sauna (sauna use incurs a small fee) on the 3rd floor.

While the rooms are located on the 4th floor, check-in is on the 2nd level, which serves as an Internet café/lounge area. This setup can be a bit confusing. The hotel isn’t very close to the train station, but that was fine for me since I cycled there from Hiroshima. It’s a quiet area with limited food options, so I went to a nearby grocery store to pick up some bento and returned to the hotel to eat.

Red Submarine is located very centrally in Kure. It is handy for restaurants and nightlife. The submarine style decor makes it a bit unusual.

it was good value for money, no complaints.

Panasonicのタンブラスイッチだったり、デロンギの電子レンジだったり、ステンレスの洗面台だったり、細部のこだわりが感じられた。エアコンはTOSHIBA、ビルトインでこのメーカーを選ぶとはgood。リネンはきれいで清掃も行き届いているので、女性の単身者の利用があるのもうなずけた。

食堂の照明の色見の調整方法がわからなかった。23時に大浴場に行ったが、こちらは公衆浴場であり、4人くらいの若いグループが2組、中年単身が7名ほど居合わせたので、ゴミが浮いていて濁っていた。リフォーム経年の割に、寝室へのドアの建付けが怪しくなってきそうで、カギの開け方に苦戦した人、朝の頻繁な開け締めによる劣化がある。丸いドアノブにでも替えると静音化も期待できるのになぁ。
