Meta Homestay

The bungalow was so cute and had everything we needed, the location is outside of the chaotic centre which was really nice, it felt like we were in the jungle while still not too far from everything. We rented a motorbike from the homestay which was perfect because the roads felt really safe to drive on. The owner really made us feel like home, he invited us to drink with his friends, he made us taste the local food and even invited us to a wedding of his cousin!! Can't recommend this place enough, it was definitely a highlight of our trip in Cambodia!

After spending a week exploring the wonders of Siem Reap and the temples of Angkor, we returned for our final night to stay with Mister Meta — this time at Meta Homestay (we had previously stayed at his Kakrona Pouk Homestay). And once again, it was absolutely fantastic! Nestled in a beautiful green setting with a serene pond nearby, Meta Homestay is a peaceful escape from the busier parts of town. Mister Meta himself has his own tuk-tuk and took us to more hidden gems in the area — his local knowledge is such a gift! His lovely wife sews clothes, and if you're looking for comfortable, airy pants at a great price, this is the place to find them. They also offer traditional Khmer cooking classes, and every meal we had there was delicious and full of flavor. While it's a bit further from the temples, the peaceful surroundings and the warm welcome you receive make it feel like coming home. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a more personal, authentic Cambodian experience!

The host was very friendly and hospitable. The location was exactly what I wanted: somewhere in the countryside, away from the touristy places, surrounded by nature.

We love the accessibility with Meta, this is one of these host you’re really happy to meet in your life when you’re traveling! The little house is lost in the middle of wonderful rice fields and let you the occasional to be completely alone. We love our stay and hope we’ll have the chance to comeback and see Meta and his family again!

Wanting a cultural experience, you should definitely see Prom Meta and his lovely wife. WE staying in the hand built home in the rice paddy and his wife made me some fantastic dresses, from her business at their place. Meta took me out for breakfast every morning which was great and authentic.. Love soaking up this culture with beautiful people.

They love hard beds in Cambodia so ask for an extra doona to go on top of the matress. Nothing is too much trouble.
