Villa Bohèmia

Everything was amazing. The place is not in the city but we had a car so very easy to get to the city and back. Great home and swimming pool. The owner was very easy to contact in terms if issues and needs. There is a person la cally who is available in case if problems. Overall an amazing stay.

The house itself is beautiful and spacious with a wonderful pool. I am sure it would be a great place if you had a car and were with a group. I am adding the suggestions below as I do think these things would help others for future bookings.

The location on booking.com led us to believe that this house was just a few km outside Essaouira, but unfortunately it was about 14km away and in the middle of nowhere. We felt that this was somewhat misleading and had we known this, we would not have booked. We wanted to be near to Essaouira or at the very least a short taxi drive away. There was nowhere for us to walk to or any shops for us to pick up supplies nearby. And as we didn't want to hire a car on this trip so unfortunately we felt very isolated during our stay . Also, we were not given an address for the property, we couldn't even message a taxi and say where we were, because it was not easy to find on maps or similar. On arrival we were met by Abdul, who was very lovely. But once he left, there was nothing to show us how to use the oven, and the only food we had bought really needed to go through the oven. There wasn't a welcome book etc. My husband is a chef, so he usually knows his way around ovens, but after a few hours of trying and looking up the manual on-line and messaging the owner and Abdul back and forth, Abdul came out with a lighter as it had to be lit manually? As we are not smokers, and there was NO lighter near the oven or in the house anywhere, this did seem like a huge oversight. There was also no plug for the sink, so I ended up having to wash up in a big pan as we didn't want to put the dishwasher on to just wash the odd cup or spoon. We were there in spring and it was quite cold. There is no heating in the house, so on two of the days we were there, we were huddled in the lounge round a fan heater I had found in one of the bedrooms. Maybe an oil fired radiator for the main space or facilities to light a fire would be beneficial in the winter months. And finally, the lighting in the kitchen was dark for cooking. And the main area would definitely benefit from some lamps. Again I bought some down from the bedrooms to make the evenings more cosy.

Het was een prachtig huis, zeer ruim en alles was aanwezig. Het huis is in het echt mooier dan op de foto's. De afstand naar het centrum van Essaouira is 10 km. Alles was prima georganiseerd, communicatie was top met de persoon die sleutel kwam afgeven en weer ophalen. Heel vriendelijk allen. Alle kamers waren voorzien van aparte wc en badkamer. Het zwembad lag prachtig.

Eigenlijk niets en als ik dan toch iets moet melden dan zou ik de tip willen meegeven om de keuken van iets meer licht te voorzien.
