I booked a room through Booking.com but never received a confirmation call from the owner. The next day, just 4 hours before our scheduled check-in, I called to confirm our reservation, only to be told that no room was available. When I questioned how this was possible given that I had received official confirmation from Booking.com, his response was shocking. He casually admitted that he doesn't take Booking.com reservations seriously because "there are too many fake bookings" and he "loses revenue." I was stunned. What about genuine customers like us who book in good faith? He had no answer. This cavalier attitude left my family stranded with nowhere to stay. We were forced to scramble for last-minute accommodations, dealing with immense stress and anxiety while traveling with family. The financial impact was severe—we ended up paying significantly more than planned, completely blowing our budget. I strongly urge Booking.com to remove such unreliable hosts and their properties from your platform. Customers trust your confirmation system, and hosts who treat it as optional are undermining that trust and causing real harm to families like mine. This experience was extremely disappointing and has left us questioning whether we can rely on Booking.com in the future.
