The front desk staff need training. Do not know to communicate at all. Particularly, the general Manager was very arrogant and behaved abnormally. Certainly he forgot that he is also a staff and he is talking to customers. We were there with a pet and he treated us in an unexpected manner. They were fabricating several rules and regulations for the pet impromptu on the spot. We were treated with respect by the rest of the staff and the restaurant staff. The room did not have all the supplies, like shampoo bottles were empty; we have no complaints about it. For the dinner, the quantity of curd and rice was minuscule for the money we paid, I felt. The quantity of butter was the same as that with curd! Ask the front desk manager to not to get into arguement with customers. His name is Indrajit or so from West Bengal he said. The previous day we stayed in Grant mercure. The pet and parents were treated respectfully. No regrets or concerns there. The Manager at Gateway was a total disaster to say the least.

Cleanliness and politeness of the staff

Ambience and cleanliness were good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Swimming pool didn't have showers installed which led to a lot of people entering the pool without taking showers and proper swimming costumes .

The management was extremely unclear on pet policy - we explicitly confirmed that pet were allowed They made a fuss about the size of the dog AFTER we reached , this is a golden retriever one of the most friendly breeds and had us worried In addition we were not served welcome drinks in the above confusion, our room didnt work the first time and then we were going to be double charged - we were asked to pay for rice we ordered for our pet which should be covered under the pet boarding To add insult to injury the lady at checkout was a poor listener and not informed - she didn't hear my question and jumped in some random answer She did that on more than one occasion I expect better from Taj

Overall the stay was pleasant.

The food quality / taste was not as expected, especially the food that was delivered to our room (rise was not fully cooked)
