Maui Homestay

Nice big room, very good location, good value for money, the owners are very nice and always very helpful. Felt quite comfortable and at home.

Liked everything basically. Maybe some details for future improvement: small mirror on the bathroom, bed side table with a light/lamp would be nice.

It is conveniently located just outside the downtown area of General Luna. As long as you are ok with the noise - since it is on the main road from other part of Siargao to General Luna - it would be a good choice. But it's better to have ear plugs. The room was spacious although the curtain was so transparent that anyone could see through it from outside. (I wonder if they actually fixed it after my stay)

First, I would like to be completely honest about my experience, hoping this will help those considering the place. About the facility: it was equipped with essential appliances such as a fridge, plates, drinking water, etc., which was great, but the bathroom should have been better. The bathroom door was broken and I couldn't close it properly, and I had hard time taking a shower at a normal temperature - the shower water was either too hot or freezing. But I think I get what I pay for, and this is normal in this area for the price I paid per night. If you want to take a proper shower, it looks like you have to pay at least twice of what I paid here. About the communication: I am still not feeling good about owner's communication. When I told them that the curtain was transparent, they asked me if I wanted to move to a different room and I agreed to such a kind gesture. But I wasn't sure when I am supposed to move, so the next day or so, I asked them casually about that and then they said "can you move now? we are having the next ,uest NOW." I was like "NOW?" ButI was away from the place so I told them I was coming back and to wait for me a little bit. But they didn't even try to listen and they moved my stuff without my permission. I was really frustrated since I had important medications and I really don't like my stuff to be touched by anyone. (By the way, they still put the new guest into the same room with the transparent curtain...). Besides, from my conversation with one of the housekeepers, I noticed that they (the housekeepers) always check on guests from outside (or even inside?) the room what/how they are doing, which was kinda creepy for me. So this place doesn't really offer privacy. If you are willing to stay at this price range but still want to maintain privacy, this place is not for you.

We loved the room. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious.

The WiFi could have been better!
