Everything it’s great

Dakhla is off the beaten path. Most people come for kite surfing and not the city itself. With that said, a certain allowance of what-to-expect is in order. You're not getting the Ritz here; but you're getting access to this city and it's offerings right outside your doorstep. When I got to the Hotel, it was empty. No one else was staying there. The staff was surprised that I was even staying there. Again, not many people visit here. However, that didn't stop the hotel staff from being professional and friendly. Bantering with them was great. But they even gave me local recommendations, called me a taxi at 4 in the morning for my flight, and even offered to go grab a tea with me locally.

Like I mentioned; you're in Dakhla. This isn't a romantic getaway or luxurious experience. You're here to experience a place not many will get to. Despite the rooms being perfect, the location close to everything, and the staff being attentive-- there are some downsides. These downsides are only downsides; however, if you let them be downsides. If you go in with the expectation of being in Dakhla, it makes sense. For instance, the WiFi was spotty in the room. Sometimes it worked great, other times it didn't. There was never hot water... but then again, you're in a desert. You're right next to one of Dakhla's busiest streets (if you can even call it that). Dakhla wakes up at night and will party hard into the morning. If there's a festival, a birthday, or especially a wedding, expect cars to drive down honking their horns.

Short walk into the centre of the town

Hopefully short-term, but the sidewalks all in process of being churned up and relaid so would not be good for mobility-challenged tourists right now - I imagine it will all be finished by the end of 2025
