Gully Retreat

Very friendly hosts. Location was fantastic. Close to town but where the property was situated you'd think you were in your own quite oasis in the middle of a forest. Beautiful atmoshere & surroundings. Little extras provided like noodles, porridge, muslei etc. Free WiFi & very friendly dog & cat were a plus.

Our biggest gripe was how difficult it was to trundle our luggage down the side of the house, round the back, & then manoeuvre our large bags down the steps to our accomadation. In the dark it was quite difficult to see walking around the back of the house. I think this problem with the access depends on your age. If my young, fit, strong sons stayed here they would have given 10/10 as they could have dashed down the stairs with ease & really don't notice the little things mentioned further on. Quite cold, would benifit with a larger heater. The bed was one of hardest beds I've ever slept on but what I found really strange was the bed had no top sheet!!! After asking the host we were told they never supplied a top sheet (I think this might be custom in their country) but they kindly provided us one, just a pity it was only a single size. Overall all we found the bedding dissapointing. If the hosts upgraded the bedding we would have given this a 9/10😊 overall though quite & reasonably priced accomadation handy to town. P. S/ Alison contacted me a couple of days after we left saying she had found one of my hearing aids. She kindly posted it back to me which was very nice of her to go that extra mile. For this I upgraded them to 8/10 as not every host would do this.

We enjoyed staying at place. It was nice and comfortable room. Bed was comfortable.and simple. I felt cosy relax in the room. Three girls was happy. Good not far from city!

Gorgeous view, lovely owners, kitchen facilities were excellent. Very friendly resident cat who came to visit us

The room is at the back of the house, facing the spectacular view of the gully. The view itself worths the stay, but the room is beautiful and well equipped with necessary items to make your stay pleasant and pampered. The host is nice and kind, came to say hello and to see if we need anything else. Moreover, it would be a heaven for cat lovers, with a beautiful and friendly black and white cat at the front, and two dark cats moving around (but not come close to you or your room)
