Hotel Materia

We stayed in Agua room - photo is of the bathroom. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Breakfast variety was great, food was good. You can order breakfast off the menu and get something different every day for a week if you wanted. I enjoyed the lattes. J, the manager, was very responsive via WhatsApp. The hotel is on a busy thoroughfare, even though it’s only a 2 lane, one direction street, it’s one of the biggest straight north south streets in that area of the historic center. We can hear a lot of traffic, but it didn’t disrupt our sleep as our room was towards the back.

Wonderful small scale hotel located close to everything, but far enough from the main street to have peace and quite inside. Loved the bed (firm but not hard) and the sheets. I also loved the design - the reason I picked it as I like more interesting places tan regular.

It's not that I didn't like, but breakfast was basic and kind of boring for Oaxaca, where there are so many wonderful food options. A well put together yogurt breakfast bowl (like the one at Bolenc) would have been amazing. Also, the coffee and tea quality lacked and mismatched the rest of the hotel experience.

Everything is perfect! Breakfast is very delicious and special. Very clean and safe. If I travel to Oaxaca again, I will choose this hotel again.
