River cottage

It was very cozy and comfortable. Was great location to our family.

The smell of the water was very disgusting like sewer water, also the driveway you bottomed out on even with a SUV, there was hair in the sink, my kids got stuck in the bathroom because the door needed to be sanded down. The TVs were very slow.

The river water ordor was bad. Took a shower and it smelled so bad made you sick.

No breakfast. Quiet location, it was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

The property needs work. We only spoke to the host by phone once and she tried to be helpful when I asked about bedding. She also sent over bottled water when I mentioned the tank was low. We did not have a chance to talk to her again due to the nature of our trip and getting back late each night. I hope improvements will be made to make the house comfortable and appealing. Attempts were made by the owner to make it look nice inside, but looks alone did not make up for the things that need to be fixed. The outside could use a makeover for curb appeal.

The tub didn’t drain and held two inches of water by the end of a shower. The washing water smells strongly of sulfur if that bothers people. The floors were all slanted and squishy while the bedroom door couldn’t close because it hit a bump in the floor. It smelled moldy and like septic. The air felt damp. It was advertised as a two bedroom when in fact the second bedroom is a summer porch of all windows and no curtains. It was too cold to sleep in during winter months. The house was also cold and had no heat. It required two portable heaters. The closet with linens was a mess and bedding was wrinkled and tossed in there. Some linens looked dirty. Another closet door cannot even open fully. The chaise cushions looked like they had blood stains. Regardless of what they were, they needed to be cleaned. The guest book had very few entries and the middle section was missing. Guests want to go where it looks clean, feels clean, and smells clean. If it’s cold, they want to feel warm and comfortable. Though the decor is an attempt to be appealing, addressing the above issues will go a long way to making this an ideal spot to spend time in. For now, it needs work to compete with better accommodations.
