"A pleasant stay and I'd be very happy to return out of term."

8.0

I loved the accessibility to the university, and the central position of the room to the entrance and lovely clean kitchen and dining facilities with the awesome view out to the hockey fields and surrounding hills. I loved the friendly staff who assisted with assisting with my after hours arrival, directions and getting on top of the internet. Definitely a safe place with fob access.

I can't really complain - students were settling back in and doors, drawers and other sounds were distracting after 9.30 pm.

"noise"

5.0

The building is new, and although the space is small, it is well equipped with everything you need. Access to the entrance and hallway requires a key, which gives a good impression of security. The room and bathroom are compact, but they include a wardrobe, desk, bed, TV, a small kitchen with cooking utensils, and a bathroom. Since everything is new, it actually feels better than many older three-star hotels. That said, I do not plan to stay here again. I give two stars mainly because the staff were friendly. After driving for six hours, I was exhausted, but I couldn’t get even one hour of deep sleep. I can’t speak for other rooms, but in the room I stayed in, there was constant noise throughout the night.

It sounded like metal scraping, a motor running, water moving up and down, and even a vibration like a giant phone on silent mode. The entire room felt filled with mechanical noise. Hair scattered on the bathroom tiles didn’t bother me much, and even when the heater didn’t work properly on a suddenly cold day, I could tolerate that. However, the nonstop noise and the flashing red light directly in front of the bed made it impossible to rest. Since I visit Dunedin every month, I thought I had finally found a good place to stay, so this experience was very disappointing.

"Ok to stay for a night or two"

Spacious room. Table tennis and pool biljart downstairs. Full kitchen is available downstairs. Friendly staff. Fee parking on site.

Basic fit out of room, especially bathroom is very basic. No planchet, very weak shower.
