Vila Katarina - Lake View Apartments

The apartment was wonderful and spacious. Katarina has made so much effort into making this place perfect, including the hand made chocolates we received when we arrived. The view is great, the bed comfortable and the security was excellent. Locked code entry on the complex gate, key coded main complex door and a key coded lock box for the room key so no need to carry it around on trips out. Also a safe in the apartment. Good WiFi and internet connected TV. Easy parking under cover below the apartments. Well placed at the quiet end of Lake Bled, with only one restaurant/bar a short walk away. We had neighbors in the adjacent apartment and were completely unaware of them, it's so quiet and peaceful here. There is a supermarket on the drive in to the area so stock up to self cater, after all, it's an apartment!

Only one small negative. The bathroom is superb but is windowless and the ventilation fan could be better. A heated mirror would help when it comes to shaving :-) Also the very large and spacious shower splashes out so the floor gets wet. A floor towel is provided but does get a bit soggy.

Almost everything! New, comfortable, secure, on-site parking, well equipped. Location was perfect ( quiet, 10 minute walk to the commerce area yet convenient and a lovely walk around the lake), with amazing view of a tranquil valley and the island. However, the best part was meeting Katarina and her family. Very kind, accommodating and helpful. We will return and highly recommend it everyone.

It is common everywhere we traveled in Europe, 4 countries this trip, that the accommodations had powerful room fresheners and used scented laundry detergent. Usually floral or citrus. In most cases this didn’t seem to be an attempt to cover up something unpleasant. However, for guests with scent sensitivities or allergies this can be a significant issue. Certainly, at Vila Katarina there wasn’t any attempt to mask anything unfavorable. Just an attempt to have a welcoming environment. For us personally, it was overpowering and we had to move the scent sticks in the unit out to the veranda when we arrived. Then it was fine. Fortunately, we didn’t find the bedding scent a problem.

From the box of beautiful handmade chocolates to the L’Occitane bath products, to the fresh fruit, coffee pods and the spacious rooms, white linens and well-stocked kitchen, Villa Katarina is perfect. We stayed for four nights and loved every minute. The hosts are wonderful — they thought of everything to make their space the best. The location is great with beautiful views and very close to the lake. We were very happy with our choice!
