be Unforgettable Apartment

Omg.

So I knew from the previous posts there’s some construction mess outside the place and I was like, that’s fine, who cares. Well until it’s been left for so long the ‘local wildlife’ has made it their home and there’s rats crawling ALL OVER the place now. Not the animal spotting I was hoping to enjoy in Portugal, and especially not INSIDE the flat as well. One of the lil creeps was running across the kitchen counter scurrying out. I reached out to the owner, zero, zero reply. Like didn’t even acknowledge my message. I reached out to booking as well who first like we will contact them, we will make sure everything is sorted… then they were like, well, they didn’t reply to us to there’s nothing we can do. Interesting?

Die zentrale Lage ist unschlagbar. Auch der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter war nett. Die Küche war gut eingerichtet und das Bad war sauber.

Das Bett war unfassbar weich, die Couch absolut unbequem. Der Fahrstuhl um in den 3. Stock zu gelangen ist defekt und der Hausflur ist widerlich. Überall Schutt, Baustelle und Kakerlaken. Außerdem kommen nach der Buchung noch Kosten auf einen zu. Touristensteuer, ein Aufschlag, wenn man eher anreisen möchte, ein Aufschlag, wenn das Licht oder Strom jeglicher Art nach dem Checkout versehentlich an bleibt etc.

Good location

Given it was a self-catering apartment, it is so poor that we were told that it was our fault that we brought in food (cookies wrapped in a paper bag from the bakery next door!) which allowed an ant infestation. When I reached out to the host on WhatsApp, they said to use a spray to get rid of them. When this didn't work and it continued, we checked out and when elsewhere as it was so bad. They then turned around and said it was our fault for 'breaking policy and bringing in outside food' it's a self catering apartment and they were dried goods in the form of cookies? How can a self-catering apartment blame you for taking in cookies from a local shop? Genuinely really awful hosts to be a - blaming us, and b - claiming we shouldn't have brought in food I've luckily taken tonnes of videos and photos as well as screenshots of the messages with Nelson, and Jose, to show this happens to them frequently, and how little help they were, and then blaming me. Disappointed with Booking.com as someone who uses the site as I trust the quality of the options, and they seem to think this is at the behest of the property and hosts. It is not okay to advertise as a self-catering apartment and then say no food should be brought it. Such madness. Location is fantastic though, and the size of the apartment is great. Not good for those with accessibility issues.

The place was amazing and well out together ❤️ the candy at the front was a great idea.

The out of order elevator. Which should have been told before i paid. I am a senior and had to walk over three flights.
