"Picture perfect fjord vacation!"

10.0

Extremely charming hotel full of history in a beautiful and quiet Fjord. Straight from a postcard! Has been led by the same family for 300 years, amazing hosts. Breakfast is one of the best i’ve ever had! Such a memorable stay!

Excellent location by the Fjord in a local part of the Sognefjord with (relatively) good weather. Good breakfast. Also good dinner. Very nice gardens and other areas (the patio, the gallery, etc) - nice place to "chill out" Very clean, well maintained. Friendly and personal staff (9th generation owners...), interesting history. Staff seems very content. Have good parking and plenty EV-charging.

Very expensive room. (same with the wine). Dark, awkward room/bathroom (purposefully oldfashioned, I know, but very impractical). Stayed out of the room (not really a big problem as the gardens are excellent and there is plenty outdoors activities in the area). (Lots of small lamps with very little light, few/badly placed plugs for charging, separated warm/cold in washbin/shower, etc) The dinner (which was good) is probably enough for (older) people with a low activity level, but for an active person who had been on hikes that day it was not sufficient. Also a little to "stiff" dinner (white cloth, etc) - but thats just a personal preference.

"The Walaker is a special hotel."

10.0

My husband and I found the Walaker (and the village of Solvorn) to be a really special place. We had perfect weather for swimming at the beach, hiking up Molden for fjord views, and enjoying a glass of champagne in the hotel garden. Staff and food were excellent. The historic room had tons of charm. We only stayed one night but I could see spending a week to enjoy daily hikes, afternoon swims, and relaxing with a good book -- it's such a lovely, restful place!

"not worth to stay in this hotel for the price. (rate price/quality, probably the worst hotel in Norway)"

4.0

breakfast and location (little town)

extremely expensive for the quality. The room (104) does not have TV, AC, fridge, coffee, tea or water… it is simple and basic. it does not worth kr 4.125 per night. No bar in the hotel, they just serve some local beer and cider. we paid 2.800 for 1 beer and 1 cider.

"living in history"

10.0

You feel special visiting it. Having to meet the true owners of the place and not only seeing how they make the place amazing but actually feeling it in every aspect of the hotel.

would love to have more activities around in the hotel itself
