Shinoda House

歴史的な風情ある邸宅に家族だけで過ごすという贅沢な経験が出来ました。

広く開放的な分、リビングの暖房が効きにくく冬の寒さは結構堪えました。

Old authentic interior, Plenty of space. New bathroom and toilet downstairs. We loved the old books in the cabinet.

Lounge area could use a few more chairs.

Big rooms, good location close to the beach.

There was lots of dust in the house, smells of mould. On the ceiling in one of the bedrooms, the roof had been stained from leaks. Windows were not able to be opened. The view into the garden was tarnished by junk thrown haphazardly around, appeared as if the owners didn’t care for the place. When placing suitcases into a cupboard, there were lots of old books that had been thrown into it which also stunk of mould and dust. Not great if you are an asthmatic or have issues with mould.

Very easy access, fantastic house and amenities! The host always responded to all requests in a timely and efficient manner. Couldnt ask for anything more.

Location was great, 5 minutes to the beach, 15 minute walk to the train station and the main shrine, sights and restaurant row.

Iights in the stairway couldn't be turned off at night, we had to hang towels over the glass on the bedroom doors so the rooms would be dark enough. The glass on the bookshelf wasn't clean, such nice books on display it was spoiled by dirty glass. TV wasn't plugged in or the cord even connected when we arrived, I had to figure out how to power it and then connect it to the wifi, and change the language to English. We had to buy umbrellas for the villa, which we left for the next guests when we departed.
