VINTAGE HOUSE

Good facilities for Family to stay. We were there for 3 nights, but even good for longer stays. Kitchen was very spacious and was provided with necessary utensils. Bed and Air Conditioner were very comfortable. we checked in at 1:00AM ( Midnight) but it was easy. Host provided necessary instructions for smooth check in.

Shower stall was very narrow and difficult to have comfortable shower

unexpected to know, bedroom and living room are not on the same flat. For travellers with big luggage (we are from Asia), a bit inconvenient. There is no bidet in the bathroom which is not common in Italy, but we are ok. We understand it is an aged house with its own character.

Great location and excellent value for money. Short walk to main attractions and easy stroll to bus station for day trips. Although entry is street level, the upper level bedroom is well insulated so you can sleep well. Washing machine and dryer were a great little extra. Wifi was really good - No problem for any remote work. Owner was easy to contact and made the stay stress free. Very helpful. The kitchen is basic but has the essentials. If you want to spend your time out and exploring but have an easy location to come home to, this is a top option.

If you had a larger group and some people needed to sleep downstairs you will have noise from the street outside. The nights, from 9:30pm, were pretty quiet regardless, but there can be the odd noisy car passing

This is an excellent little house in true Catania local style, even up to the bedroom roof, sculpted in local style, matching many of the ancient buildings in the city. If you are looking to experience Catania as locals do, this is the perfect place for you. We enjoyed the breakfast included in a small but lovely cafe across the street, enjoyed sitting with the local guys and enjoying a sweet pastry and an espresso. You are literally 5 mins stroll to the heart of the old city, and just keep following your nose to see the amazing architecture. The house is compact but has all the things needed. We cooked in for a few nights, tasting the amazing local produce available, especially the fish. There are plenty of shops close by, including excellent local wine for €2 a litre!! Aircon was very effective and the bathroom and shower ideal. Very handy having a washing machine too !! The hosts, Salvatore and Davide could not have been more helpful, and responded almost immediately to any questions we had in the week, absolutely first class support, from bus timings to restaurant recommendations. The lovely beach is just a simple 15 min stroll. We followed google map directions which were simple. The walk over a car park near the beach makes one wonder if you are there, but just keep going to find a lovely beach, with very attentive lifeguards, and a few bars available for beers and food. We hired good sunbeds for a reasonable €5 per day. If you want to enjoy Catania as a true local, this place is for you.

The issue we had was communication linked to the free parking mentioned. The cleaning lady that gave us the keys asked us to park at a specific place, which had a 'no parking' sign. It looked strange but I assumed she knew better than me. 30 minutes later I got a call from the owner friend to come and move the car because the police was there. I had to pay a 60 € fine and I even almost got my car impounded...

Vintage house was VERY charming! Vintage interior and modern technology combined ! Loved that we lived among the locals and felt the real Sicilien vibe. close to everything and easy to walk around, and even parking the car, vent all right.
