Gypsea Marari

I recently stayed at Gypsea Marari Villa with my family and it was such a calming experience. The place was very quiet and peaceful, making it perfect for relaxing. Everything was super clean from the rooms to the outdoor areas, which made the stay even more comfortable. I enjoyed spending time outside, whether it was walking in nature or sitting in the garden. The kids had a great time playing in the grassy lawn at the homestay. The large, open space was perfect for running around, playing games, and enjoying the outdoors. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. They made sure we felt at home. They served delicious homemade breakfast. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a restful escape in a home-like setting. I would love to visit again!

The place is very scenic and beautiful. The host Thomas and Abey were so responsive and look at every way to keep the guest happy and comfortable.

There are many fantastic things about this accomodation that are worth commenting on.. Here are just three: 1. The cabin is set in a large riverside garden which is picture perfect, with a view of the beach in the distance. There are many diverse birds, trrees and flowering shrubs which make the site very pretty and relaxing. 2. The cabin has been re-constructed from traditional wooden Kerala homes which give the site both an interesting and authentic feel, and the interior furnishing is to a very high standard, whilst still being homely. 3. The hosts are brilliant and helped us with everything we needed - the breakfasts alone could keep you here forever...!

This is a great alternative to staying in Allepey, however this beach is not as clean as the tourist beaches there (feb 2024) as it is a work-place used by many fishing boats....BUT the hosts have plans to work with the community to clean it up !

The property is wonderfully placed and is located right on the backwaters, making for a very picturesque location. Jiby is also a fantastic host and helped organise our day (from arranging transportation to having a backwater tour set up). We were also provided with breakfast even though it wasn’t a part of our package. Would easily recommend this to anyone looking for a wonderful and quaint place to stay.

The location itself is a bit hard to find and off the main road. Transportation is also not easy, though the host will happily arrange the same for you.

Very clean rooms, nice location and friendly caretakers.
