Shizuya KYOTO

Nice female capsule hotel in Kyoto. It was really nice to have a little room (rather than just capsule) - there is enough space for a small suitcase. The showers are nice, but there is not many of them so you might have to wait. The owners were friendly and one of them speaks English. The location is about a 15 min walk from the main station and you can walk to Gion in about 25 minutes.

Like in most capsule hotels, there is no sound-proofing so you can hear everyone moving around.

Exceptional stay in Kyoto. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was a decent private room for a solo traveller. It was quite close to the main attractions, and I would happily stay here again if I revisit Kyoto.

L'établissement en lui-même est top ! C'est super propre, confortable, pratique et ça sent très bon. Mention spéciale à toutes les femmes de l'équipe : elles sont incroyablement gentilles et bienveillantes.

Gros point noir pour un établissement censé être "reservé aux femmes" : la présence d'un homme dans le staff. C'est inadmissible pour ce concept. De plus, il était désagréable, hyper pointilleux sur les règles et pas du tout compréhensif. Il gâche clairement l'expérience. Autre bémol : devoir payer un supplément de 300 Yens pour une arrivée tardive alors qu'on vous laisse juste la clé dans une enveloppe sans aucun accueil physique, c'est un peu abusé.
