This is a beautiful villa with fantastic views. This is a house with a lot of history. Each room is filled with artifacts and interior items from different countries. It feels like you are living in a museum. You want to admire the house and imagine how they lived here many years ago. The week flew by so quickly that you want to go back. The house manager Mariano was very friendly and always in touch. I would like to separately note the wonderful wine that he produces! Thank you very much, we were happy to spend his entire vacation here.

The location and views are stunning. Absolute million-dollar view overlooking Capri. The house harks back to the age of the golden 40s, or even the era predating talkies, with tiled floors, outdoor terrazzo, lovely antique furniture and fixtures. The rooms are very spacious. It was lovely to sit on one of the balconies and watch the sunset over the Santorini coastline. The indoor staircase was like something out of Sunset Boulevard, as was the house. There was a washing machine. The host was very helpful, even ferrying one of us back on his motorbike after we returned our rental car. He also proposed a wonderful, private cruise to Amalfi, although there would be cheaper ways of doing this, unless you're a bigger group.

It was a genuine experience of living in a 40s Italian villa, with the electrics and plumbing sadly in need of a lot of maintenance or renovation. We found that some of the power-points were wired into the bedside lights (after wondering why our devices were flat in the morning) so that turning off the lights turned off the power. Standard European plugs didn't always fit. Unplugging the iron also pulled the power-point from the wall. The kitchen kettle was hopeless for a house for up to 7 people. The water pressure in the showers was poor. The shower over the bath wouldn't stay on without being held and the plug for the bath didn't work. While it was lovely sitting on the living area balcony, water dripping from above (airconditioner pipes) made it tricky to position oneself in a group. A highlight for me was being locked in the upstairs bathroom when the lock jammed (eventually I was able to pass the key to someone on the outside and it worked from there). The beds weren't particularly comfortable, although we slept well after long days at activities. While not far from Sorrento, access is not great, and the narrow, poorly maintained driveway is frightening (like the traffic in Italy). Even the transfer drivers were concerned. We ended up leaving two days early, losing 2 days rent, although part of this was logistical for some members of the group. Was it all worth the price? Depends on how much you love stunning views and need space, and perhaps want a genuine yesteryear experience.

The transportation to get out of the villa has to be reserved ( we called some taxis company at the time we wanted to go out and in 2 occasions r not available.

Villa Rosanna was absolutely wonderful! It is not a modern villa but it has all that you need for a cosy and stress free vacation - three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and livingroom and the best of all: two big balconys from where you can watch the sunset over the islands Ischia and Capri. Nearby is a minimarket and a nice restaurant. The host Mariano was amazing, he was really accomodating and helped us to plan our trips to Sorrento and Capri. I would absolutely recommend Villa Rosanna!

Views from the villa are absolutely stunning. You have a 180 degree view of the sea. You have an unobstructed view of Capri island. Great views from the balcony and the two bedrooms facing the sea. Also great view of the water from the huge living room.

No attached bathrooms in any of the bedrooms. The bathroom upstairs is not conducive to a standing shower as it has a tub. There is a bathroom on the main floor which has a very small standing shower area. The villa can be better maintained as the windows were old and not clean. Furniture inside is old, though it has some character.

The big house and the fantastic views

With the house we liked everything. With the Amalfi coast in general, the lack of parking (meaning almost none) everywhere is difficult to live with (more so because it is an area that totally needs a car).

Spacious clean quiet villa with incomparable views of the magical islands of Capri and Ischia from two beautiful balconies. The view of the sun setting over Ischia is unforgettable.

The photos don't do it justice, the view is absolutely stunning from all the different terraces of the house. The owners were easy to communicate with and very helpful with suggestions for the area. We loved every minuet of our stay, it was a perfect place to get away and relax.
