Swallows Rest

This was the ideal location and 'home' for a very quiet and relaxing weekend! The house is beautifully decorated and contained everything we needed. We were lazing on the deck chairs (absorbing the surroundings - lovely to hear the birds and the sea), walked to the estuary (close by), drove to Onrus and so forth. A very short (but sweet) break! Thank you also to the host, who was very kind and who responded quickly when we had questions/needed assistance.

I loved this place so much. It's clean, it's modern and just overall beautiful. The host is an absolute star, so caring and accomodative. The host also provides everything, you literally just have to bring yourself and food! I will definitely be booking this place again as it was very relaxing.

Its location to the Lagoon and communal area is perfect.

How peaceful it was

It was really great to recieve direct communication from the owner, to provide me with directions to the venue, and steps to follow on arrival. The owner was available to recieve any questions for our duration of stay, and this was so reassuring. In terms of the accommodation, it was really warm, comfortable, and ideally located for a quick access to a private section of the beach. Being in a gated community also gave us peace of mind. The peace and quiet in the location was just what we needed, and it was really such a lovely first experience for us in a log cabin. The sounds of birds around us, was so pleasant too.

The winding staircase was a bit narrow, so one had to carefully navigate upstairs. However, the balcony view from two rooms upstairs was such a welcome early morning and evening as the swallows really put up such a wonderful performance. It was worth being upstairs to view this. The accommodation really had everything needed, except for a stand-alone microwave. However, the stove/ oven had a microwave function, but it was a bit complicated to figure out, even with step by step instructions left in the unit. Despite this, we still enjoyed the accomodation.

An absolutely charming cabin and location with stunning views from the bedrooms. The fire pit and braai area are very private and offer a comfortable place to enjoy relaxing in the evening. A truly wonderful holiday location - if you enjoy nature, great bird life, stunning views and close access to beach and lagoon, look no further.

Wifi and a TV would be a good addition to add to the cabin in future. I could not find a iron to iron my clothes
