Staycity Serviced Apartment

We had a good stay. The room was comfortable, staff were very accommodating. One area for improvement: basic toiletries like toothbrush, toothpaste, and comb were not provided. Most serviced apartments and hotels at this price point include them. Adding these would really elevate the guest experience. Overall a pleasant stay and we would consider coming back.`

New and well maintained building. Very welcoming staff at the reception. I spent some days working in the lobby downstairs which was comfy. Good wifi and decent pool on the roof.

Could put a few sun loungers by the pool as the chairs are a bit awkward. TV was not smart.

We stayed here for an overnight between a ferry and a plane. Upon check-in we were asked to leave a deposit twice the price of the room rate we paid. We argued that we would only stay one short night, and they agreed to keep and ID instead. The room had very basic amenities but was pretty dark even with the lights on and was poorly soundproofed. When turning on the A/C, a moldy smell came out that I mostly noticed as I was falling asleep and my throat started closing up. I have a chronic condition and we had to turn off the A/C in order to sleep. As we got in the bedsheets, we started itching all over our skin and a pungent chlorine smell was coming out of them. I had to cover my nose with my own clothes to sleep during our short night. I would have still given this place a 5 maybe if it wasn't for the desk manager upon check out who asked to charge for the bedsheet that had some washable stains on them. I have been travelling in the Philippines for about 3 weeks now and if this was the first time the stay management was so hostile, claiming a policy when their sheets are washed with Chlorine without even trying to clean the sheets first. The insistant deposit, the 5 min room check to necessarily finding something wrong with the room resembles more a scam than an actual policy. After spending a precious time before going to the airport talking to the desk manager, who was not helpful at all, did not help me talk to the people in charge of the said policy, he recived a call from laundry that said the stains can be washed, something he could have done instead of creating this very unpleasant altercation early morning. I don't recommend to stay here.
