Boschfontein Mountain Lodge

We loved staying here. It really feels like you've escaped life. The views are spectacular, the walks are stunning. We only wish we could have stayed longer. It was worth every penny spent, we left feeling relaxed and peaceful. A real slice of heaven. Margaret was amazing and made sure that we had everything that we needed. We'll be back with family and friends next time.

Stunning position, extraordinary views and great inside fireplace. Communal areas are huge and take advantage of the view.

Alles war perfekt!

The hosts, Toni and Morgan, have created an exceptional property. It is scalable from two guests to an extended family. The lodge is remote, our rental car did make it, but a 4x4 or an SUV would have been more capable in getting into the property. Once there, the views of Lesotho from the lodge were astounding. Sunset and sunrise were spectacular. We cooked on the indoor Braai, fun and easy. The lodge is well appointed, great showers and water pressure. We will return.

Very comfortable and well planned units. Cleaning service for the whole day. You can come and totally relax. The hosts are very helpfull and informative. I can recomend the lodge for any large group or family.

I stayed at the Boschfontein Mountain lodge for one night, and once I saw the property I immediately regretted not booking a longer stay. Toni, the owner, was incredibly helpful and friendly, making the checking-in experience a breeze - this was made all the more remarkable given the fact that I made the booking last minute and she was not informed of my stay ahead of arrival. The lodge has everything one can possibly need for a comfortable stay, including an amazingly designed braai (bbq) in the center of the dining area, more than enough cutlery and seating space, and the owners' very friendly dogs to keep you company :). The bed was super comfy and everything was clean, neat and tidy. If my review ended here it would have already warranted a 5 star rating. However, the view from the property, of the Maluti mountains and the valley below, as well as the peace, quiet and serenity of the property are what really sets it apart from most places I have stayed at in that part of the world. This is mainly due to the fact that the lodge was built at the foot of the mountain that envelops the farm, and therefore provides an amazing vantage point from which to survey the scenery below. This also means it's quite easy to hike up the mountain for a 360 degree view of the wonderful Easter Free State landscape. I genuinely, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Boschfontein Mountain Lodge and can absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a few nights' rest in the area. PS; Just 1 thing to note: The road up to the lodge requires a car with a high clearance, otherwise Toni or Morgan will have to take guests up to the property in their Land Rover (which I'm sure is not a problem).
