Tashila Hostel

Tashila is warm and you always feel like home. Special shout out to the 3 lovely Sikkimese. The Host Tashi who are always cool and awesome and invited me for drinks or to the Rooftop. The lovely Sree who ensure an exciting stay and for making every moments lively (and thumbs up again for the yummy chicken curry). The Sikkimese Robin who always brought us ard to different view points or monastery and for getting me HIT. And also the guest Vikas who has stayed long enough to be the part-time staff for always sharing old monk in middle of night and the India traveling tips. I just couldn’t stop missing Tashila and the happy Tongba + Pushpa moments!

My stay at Tashila Hostel was absolutely wonderful, largely thanks to the incredible hospitality of the owner, Mr. Tashi! From the moment I arrived, Mr. Tashi made me feel incredibly welcome and at home. He was always available for a friendly chat, offered fantastic local recommendations, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a comfortable stay. It truly felt like staying with a friend, not just at a hostel. Beyond the warm welcome, I was also incredibly impressed with the cleanliness of the dorms. The rooms were spotless, the linens were fresh, and the bathrooms were consistently clean. It's clear that Mr. Tashi takes great pride in maintaining a high standard of hygiene. This made my stay incredibly comfortable and worry-free. I highly recommend Tashila Hostel for anyone looking for a friendly, clean, and welcoming hostel experience. You won't be disappointed! Note: I stayed there for more than 2 weeks.

There's nothing as such of to dislike

The common area is what strikes your eyes. It's stunning and it is as per the photos. Spacious, beautiful interiors, comfortable sofas. There are also 2 balconies to seat and chat, smoking or simply enjoying the mountains. The building is clean and the amenities are working. The dorm has lockers and clean bed linen. Bathrooms are clean with hot water and a there is also a kitchen to cook your meals. Tashi, the owner, and Srijana, the receptionist, are easygoing and very friendly. I felt being in a home with good friends not just in a hostel. I stayed longer than planned and it was hard to leave this oasis of peace. The area has a view to the mountains, food shops nearby, taxi stands and if you like to walk, as I do, you can explore the sorroundings. Easily it's one of the best places I stayed in India.

The maid service was efficient and ensured that everything was well-maintained daily. One of the highlights of my stay was the common kitchen, equipped with a gas stove, oven, and a spacious fridge. It was wonderful to cook my own meals and have access to everything I needed. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the check-in and stay smooth. The WiFi connection was strong and reliable, which was perfect for both work and leisure. The restrooms were spotless and well-kept, and the rooms were spacious, providing a comfortable stay. Another great feature was the free locker service, which ensured my belongings were secure without any extra charges. They even provided free towels and offered laundry services, which added to the convenience. The hostel also had an open, common big hall where guests could relax and socialize. It included working tables, dining tables, and ample space to unwind. The balcony offered stunning views of the city, allowing me to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset in a serene environment. Overall, my experience at Tashila Hostel was fantastic, and I couldn’t have asked for more. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming and well-equipped hostel. Definitely deserving of a 5-star rating!

The best part of the stay is it feels like home. The owner Mr Tashi is a wonderful man. Karma was a great help. He made my stay comfortable. The food was great. Go with your family or friends. You will love it :) 10/10

I was travelling late n reached at 1.20am night n the management was very sweet n offered a warm n tasty food at time when I was hungry. I had brought my car also n I got a very comfortable parking for my car. It's very very reasonable n I would recommend to anyone who wants to travel cheap n smart.
