Diamond cottage

This was an oasis in Iceland for us. The perfect cottage / house. In a quiet area <10min outside Husavik. Excellent location for any northern Iceland trip. Close enough to get an early start to go whale watching in Husavik (an absolute "must" activity in the north), and close enough to town as an end of day stop with a nearby grocery store. Amenities were perfect. Clean and very well kept. Seems new. With personal touches, making this likely a weekend family home that is in use. We loved the coffee machine. Fresh bean to cup at a touch of a button, without the crazy Iceland prices. We had a "braai" (BBQ) both nights we were there outside on the gas BBQ facility. There is also an option of a fire place. The beds were comfortable with down duvets. There is a doll house for younger kids. And a quiet porch with a sunset view for adults. There is an amazing small lake with many bird species halfway between the location and Husavik. A must stop for birders. It is <10min outside town, but this was a bonus for us. Peace and quiet, and away from the crowds. With open space around us. And, one very likely has a car when travelling to this area.

Dimond Cottage si trova poco fuori Husavik, nel mezzo della natura. Abbiamo apprezzato molto l’open space soggiorno-cucina e la camera matrimoniale. La cucina è ben fornita, anche se si potrebbero aggiungere più tazze. Ritirare le chiavi è stato facilissimo e l’host ha comunicato con noi in modo efficace e puntuale. Nel complesso, un’esperienza positiva!

Da migliorare lenzuola e federe (le nostre avevano uno strano odore di pesce), cuscini e piumini sembravano vecchi e avevano diverse macchie (consiglierei di cambiarli), abbiamo trovato capelli non nostri sui cuscini del divano. In generale la casa sembra già abitata (oggetti per bambini negli armadi, ad esempio). La seconda camera ha un layout molto strano, con il letto matrimoniale molto incassato. Per finire, abbiamo dovuto preparare i letti da soli (non è un problema di per sé, ma in vacanza se possibile eviterei) e nelle istruzioni ci è stato richiesto di aspirare per terra e pulire il bagno. Mi sembra un po’ eccessivo.

A beautiful home. We truly enjoyed our stay — the house is spacious, comfortable, and perfectly tucked away in nature, which gave us the privacy and peace we were looking for. We also loved the outdoor seating and the cozy atmosphere overall.

Liked the peaceful, private location. The property was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. There was nothing to dislike about Dimond cottage.

We have all home for our group and it was amazing.
