I didn't like the bed bugs and the crickets
USMy parents never ended up staying here. They arrived at 9pm and immediately felt it was unsafe and booked a new accommodation elsewhere.
USI have stayed at the Maverick a few times over the past year in a few different rooms I have no complaints. It is an older motel built in the late 1940s, yet the rooms were comfortable and the shower worked great. Very well kept up for a motel of its age.
Although Raton is fairly temperate in warmer months, at some point the management is going to have provide some hvac in the rooms, especially in winter. The wall units are decades old and were disabled during my stay. Even a fan and space heater in each room would be sufficient.
USEasy to find.
No attendant on the premises. Old heating duct was leaking water. No light bulb in the bedside lamp. Room was quite dark. Bathroom mirror had smudges. Bathroom sink was not clean, covered with whiskers, faucet was unsanitary. Toilet slot was too narrow. Drapery was not completely attached to the rod and was too high to reach. Very unpleasant room.
