Esencia Villas Tulum Priv Pool Concierge

The villa is pretty, nicely decorated and comfy. The location is good, quiet and safe. You obviously need a bike/atv/scooter/car for Tulum in general, no matter where you stay really. The villa also has an amazing, really helpful concierge team (that would be probably the highlight!), we also booked an in-house breakfast and it was absolutely phenomenal, I must say!

The shower. Apparently the boiler has (or had, I genuinely hope they changed it already, because it was the only disturbing thing, yet a really important one) a capacity of 10l hot water only, which is aprox 4 mins of (very careful, with stops :)) showering (for 1 shower = if you used both, then you had 2 mins :)). So yes, it would be unfair to not to mention this and I genuinely hope this was fixed after our departure, since it would simply be silly to not to do so

Sehr schönes dwsign innen und aussen, wirklich meisterarbeit geleistet hier und das pesonal versucht ihr bestes wenn mal etwas verlangt wird. Wirklich sehr hilfbereit - man kann auch kleider waschen!

Anfshrtstrasse zur villa ist nicht glatt, somit nicht ganz einfach mit dem Koffer.

The villa is large and beautiful, exactly as shown in the photos. At first glance, everything looks perfect, and it’s a great option for a group of 4-6 people. The host was always in touch and checked on us every day. A large bottle of drinking water was provided upon arrival, which was a nice touch. Beach towels were also available for guests. On the day of departure, we were allowed to leave our luggage with the security until our flight, which was very convenient.

The first thing you notice is the strong smell of dampness throughout the villa. After returning home, we had to wash all our clothes because the smell had absorbed into everything. There were serious issues with the water: there was no warm water at all, it was either ice cold or boiling hot, and even that not consistently. Because of this, taking a normal shower was almost impossible. The host tried to fix the problem, but nothing improved. There were also issues with the appliances: the kettle and blender were broken when we arrived, although they were later replaced. There was no iron provided. There were internet problems as well: in one of the bedrooms the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. One evening, due to a thunderstorm, both electricity and water went out. It would be helpful to have more candles available for such situations. There is no late check-out, check-out is strictly at 11:00, with no option to stay even a few minutes longer, whereas usually you can at least extend by 1-2 hours.

The design inside and the set up

It was supposed to have 5 beds: 2 master bedrooms, one bedroom with two queens and a sofa bed in the living room. We arrived with 4 adults, work related, and there were only 3 beds. After a lot of hassle, waiting, messages, they came with a solution to change houses but we were already in meeting and one of us decided to sleep in Holistika. Staff was unfriendly. Besides that, the place was beautiful but creepy. Kind of empty without a soul.

The apartment had all we needed. It is in a quieter part of Tulum.

The villas decor was wonderful. Exactly like the pictures. So much space. High quality furnishings. Comfy beds and good linen. Location great if you want to stay in town-very near Holistika and La Valeta. Really good value.
