Wir haben uns in dieser herrlichen, ruhigen Lage mitten im Grünen – die sich fast wie ein Dschungel angefühlt hat – wunderbar erholt. Die familiäre Atmosphäre war herrlich: Die Gastgeberin hat uns täglich mit abwechslungsreichen Köstlichkeiten verwöhnt, und mit dem Gastgeber haben wir am Tisch viele spannende Gespräche geführt. Er hat uns alles erklärt, was wir wissen wollten, besonders über die faszinierende Pflanzenwelt. Ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt, den wir sehr empfehlen!

The place is in the middle of the nature, peaceful and so calm, the best if you want to disconnect of everything. The host was so kind and he did everything he could for us. He helped with our journey and ride us anywhere we needed. Many activities were offered to us, like night camping in the forest, going on an excursion to see and bath in the falls around the area, go to many viewpoints ... We didn't have time to do everything but the falls were so so beautiful and so worth it.

This hidden gem is an absolute dream, especially if you want a peaceful escape to relax or get some remote work done in total tranquility. Run by the sweetest, most welcoming family, it instantly feels like a warm home away from home. The vintage style rooms are incredibly spacious, beautifully styled, spotlessly clean, and so reasonably priced. To make it even more perfect, they cook the most delicious, hearty home-cooked meals that will leave you completely full for a wonderful price. Tucked just far enough away from the city to offer stunning views and pure quiet, it is a rare, soulful find that I cannot recommend highly enough! 🤍

Malheureusement, plusieurs points m'ont déçu durant notre séjour. La maison est très isolée, au point que même certains chauffeurs refusent de s'y rendre. Il est pratiquement impossible d'aller manger à l'extérieur le soir. Le dîner proposé sur place est composé d'une petite portion de poulet avec du riz, pour un prix environ trois fois supérieur à ce que l'on trouve dans les restaurants locaux. Concernant le petit-déjeuner, il se limite essentiellement à une omelette. Contrairement à beaucoup d'autres hébergements au Sri Lanka, il n'y a pas d'accompagnements variés. De plus, le tarif affiché sur Booking ne correspondait pas à ce qui nous a finalement été facturé. À notre arrivée, la chambre attribuée était très humide, avec des traces de moisissure et sans réelle aération. Inquiet pour la qualité de l'air pendant la nuit, j'ai demandé à changer de chambre. Le propriétaire a accepté sans difficulté et je le remercie pour cela. Le principal problème concerne les nombreux frais supplémentaires. Un café proposé gentiment sera facturé, le papier toilette également, ce qui est une première pour moi après plusieurs semaines de voyage au Sri Lanka. Au moment du règlement, plusieurs coûts s'ajoutent et donnent l'impression que le prix attractif de la chambre sert surtout à faire venir les clients avant de compenser avec des suppléments. Mon conseil : demandez systématiquement le prix de tout avant de consommer ou d'accepter un service, même pour quelque chose qui paraît offert. C'est dommage, car avec davantage de transparence sur les tarifs, l'expérience aurait pu être beaucoup plus positive.

The property is located in a very peaceful and relaxing environment, surrounded by nature. It was the perfect place to unwind after a busy work schedule. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Overall, the hospitality and calm atmosphere made my stay truly enjoyable.

When I first arrived, I was amazed by the peaceful setting far from the busy city and surrounded by calm nature. The colonial style architecture added a special charm that I truly loved. We were warmly welcomed, guided with care, and treated with great hospitality throughout our stay. Everything was worth the budget, and the experience felt priceless. Thank you for making it so memorable. I can’t wait to come back for another relaxing cup of tea.

The location is a bit away from the main city, and using PickMe is the easiest way to get there. Buses are not common on this route, so traveling from Pilimatalawa might feel like a long journey but that’s exactly what makes it special. The distance adds to the uniqueness of the place and gives travelers the chance to enjoy a truly authentic experience.

Beautiful hosts, location, and food. Quietly tucked away place that I wish I could stay longer at. Rana was also very knowledgeable with plants and local must see sights. Really enjoyed my stay!
