Mali Homestays

We liked everything about it. Our hosts were so friendly and hospitable. The room is very clean, very well maintained and very comfortable. The location is great. We felt we were so rural in the beautiful backwaters. But, also, there were activites on the island and we were never far from anything. We stayed for 2 weeks it was so enjoyable. The breakfasts were better than any food we had in the local restaurants. Overall, the place was amazing and we would definitely return.

Babu and his wife were very welcoming and we enjoyed some lovely conversations together on the terrace! The homestay is located in the middle of a quiet road surrounded by fish farms in the centre of Malippuram. Falcon beach is only a few minutes walk away in one direction, while the main road with shops and restaurants is a few minutes walk in the opposite direction. In the mornings you can watch local guys come to climb the coconut trees outside and check their readiness for harvest. We were served a lovely and varied Keralan breakfast each morning with gorgeous fresh fruit. The room was simple but clean with AC and ceiling fan to deal with the hot humid temperatures and a mosquito net at the doorway preventing any pesky bugs from disturbing our sleep. We also had access to a rooftop terrace, mini kitchen with sink, fridge and a washing machine for doing our own laundry. Access to Fort Kochi is very easy too with a 20 minute auto ride to the Ferry and a 3 rupee cost per person to cross the short distance (ferry every 10 minutes).

There were some little bugs running around in the sink area in the bathroom and we would have preferred cotton bed linen to the fluffy blanket provided. However, these are small points and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very comfortable here!

Loved the hospitality of uncle and aunty from Day 1 itself (Mrs. and Mr. Sebastian). The facilities such as super speed Wi-fi connectivity as I wanted a serene and calm atmosphere to work, the amazing breakfast made by aunty (authentic and unique every single day) and the overall neatness and comfort of the property.

The place was serene and peaceful.. spent time on rooftop with front lake view was icing on the cake..owner was taking care like own parents..homemade food by aunty was authentic south indian and very delicious..gesture of kindness (uncle took us to the market when required midnight in his own car to help us)..he guided us to explore places.. thank you for being so welcoming..will definitely visit again:)

The room was really comfortable. The area was stunning and the owners were so nice and welcoming. There was a bicycle I could use to move around and nice beaches in the area. Cherai beach was the best one to visit. Also very easy to get to fort kochi from there with tuk tuk and ferry. Thank you for the amazing stay

Located in a serene location, a cute property. The hospitality was out of the world from the hosts. Do not miss their breakfast platter. Absolutely recommended if you are looking for a quite and silent place to stay away from the city.

We had a great experience with this lovely homestay and family. As soon as we arrived, we were greated with a warm welcome and a refreshing juice. We were surprised by how clean and modern the homestay was, as we have never throughout the years experienced such cleanliness in India before ✨ The homestay is a bit remote from Kochi, but very easy to reach by Uber and you can get everywhere quickly. The main street and therefore many stores are within walking distance. The family was very accommodating and friendly and were able to give us lots of useful information about the area and India in general. On top we had the best breakfast we could have wished for. Every day there was a new delicious typical Kerala breakfast, 5 stars in taste 🤩 One day we were even invited to try the red coconuts that grow in the hosts' garden. Everything you needed was there, even a washing machine was available, which was perfect for our long duration travel trough India. The large roof terrace was perfect for relaxing, playing board games and consuming outside food. If you want to avoid the hussle and bussle and are more into a calm environment, this is definitely the place for you.

We have so many lovely things to say about this stay. We are so happy we chose to stay here. The property is super accessible by Uber, and everywhere around the area is easily travelled to by Uber also, with collection for us being under 10 minutes. It is a 1km walk to the nearest beach at the end of the road, where you can watch fishermen, get a juice/coffee or feed the cute stray dogs. Cherrai Beach is a 30-40 minute Uber ride away, which was really affordable. Public buses are running every few minutes from the top of the road and bring you in both directions, towards Kochi city or to Cherrai beach and further. Multiple shops are within a 5 minute walk from the property - supermarket, food places, pharmacy etc. The area is super quiet and relaxing, we slept so well here. The room is cosy, with a nice seating area outside your room and also upstairs. If you’re a breakfast person you will love this stay. Every day we had something new, we feel like there is something for everyone. If you’ve never had Indian cuisine for breakfast this will be your time to try! :) They were so kind to let us wash our clothes during the stay aswell, supplying us with everything we needed. There was plenty drying space upstairs. The lovely owners are open for chats and are super informative about Kochi and the surrounding areas. We would 100% come back, and would recommend this stay to our friends and family. If you want a relaxing stay with lovely people, this is your go to!
