Beautiful home and very inviting

Had an odd smell. Stale water perhaps

Close to the centre. So comfortable bed, furniture bathroom.

Very accommodating and the facilities were comfortable and clean. The breaky food is simple but nice to have something providing in the morning to eat. Two thumbs up

Very roomy living / dining area. Everything we needed for an overnight stop while travelling down the South Island

Being in walking distance of the town was good. The bed was comfy.

Breakfast could have been better. Mostly did not eat it. One Weetbix and one piece of toast were provided for each day. When the milk ran out it was not replaced. There was enough ground coffee to make one pot. Two hard pears never ripened while I was there. I’m not quite at ease with plastic flowers and a lot of Katherine Hepburn memorabilia. The blinds didn’t work very well.

Lots of space and it was a bonus to have a separate living area, bedroom and and kitchen dining. The property let down was that no one had checked the crockery, and though there were 2 dinner plates, 3 side plates, one large salad bowl there was not one small bowl to use for breakfast cereal or dessert! The basin in the bathroom was tiny with a glass shelf mounted directly above it, so close that spitting out toothpaste was an impossibility. The kitchen (apart from no bowls) was very well equipped with dishwasher and many appliances.
