Cabana Mirajul Rimetea - Cozy, Mountain View & Hot Tub

PRIVACY & SURVEILLANCE During our stay, the owner contacted us to claim — incorrectly — that we had unauthorised guests sleeping over. He stated that he had been monitoring us via CCTV, which we found deeply unsettling. Upon closer inspection, the cameras appear to be 360° devices positioned to cover the main seating area and hot tub. We were travelling with young children who used the hot tub in swimwear, and the knowledge that the owner may have been actively viewing live footage while guests are in these spaces raises serious safeguarding concerns. We have formally reported this matter to Booking.com. Prospective guests with children should be aware of this before booking. OWNER CONDUCT The owner's manner during the phone call was aggressive and confrontational, particularly toward a female member of our group. Once another adult took over the conversation, his tone changed noticeably. This behaviour was entirely unprovoked and unacceptable. Even after we confirmed that no one beyond those named on the reservation was staying overnight, he continued to be dismissive and rude. FIRE SAFETY The property is constructed entirely from timber. We could not locate a single smoke alarm anywhere on the premises. This is a significant safety hazard and, in our view, a potential breach of basic legal requirements for rental accommodation. Please satisfy yourself on this point before arriving. CONSTRUCTION NOISE & ACCESS Two properties directly opposite are currently under construction. Heavy machinery — including tractors and trucks — operates throughout the day, which significantly affects the peaceful environment you would expect from a rural retreat. This is expected to continue throughout summer 2026. Additionally, the driveway to the property has been badly damaged by construction traffic. Those arriving in a low-clearance or valued vehicle should proceed with caution. We would not recommend this property.

Sitio muy tranquilo y bonito. La casa estaba completamente equipada para cocinar, hacer barbacoas y pasar un buen rato.

La carretera de acceso a la casa podría estar mejor indicada.

New thing, heaps of space thru the 5 bedrooms. Fireplace is awesome so is the jacuzzi. Customer service from the owner is great, truly exceptional. He cares and takes care of things that you ask for or something comes up.

It was definitely inline with the price. Great value.

Spending a weekend with friends at this cabin was amazing! The surroundings are beautiful, the house is well equipped, clean and has a modern design. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are very well done. We did barbecue in the yard and also chilled in the little pool!
