Elephant lodge

Proximity to nature, some animals visited ( not guaranteed), food, baggy trips, NYE party, room size and view, friendly staff. I had good memories and I am very grateful to all staff.

These points are not a criticism really, but maybe ideas for future improvement.As the only place to be is by the pool and kitchen, or the room really, you get inevitably exposed to some noise from kitchen and maintenance.Also be prapared that the swimming pool is small and rather cold.It is under the tree, and despite constant efforts from lovely team, it gets filled with debris and insects. If you dont do trips or book massages, there is nothing to do really, with such isolated location, could have been nice to have some board games, maybe yoga sessions or other activities on site, maybe language or bookable cooking classes.I also dont see the point of having a sauna in such hot country, but its just me.

The location of the lodge is good, 10 minutes drive to the gate of Tarangire national park. Because the park has no fence, the animal could come into the area where Elephant lodge is located. We saw elephants, gazelles, zebras from our bedroom window. Due to this reason, a government fee of 30 USD per person per night stay is demanded. This fee is paid to the hotel, it is not the same as the Tarangire park fee. also because of the presence of the wild animal within the area, we were not allowed to walk within the hotel area without a guider, so each time we went to the restaurant, we needed a guider to walk with us. It worked fine, the guider always came within a few minutes. The overall service is good. The room rate incl. full pension, therefore lunch bags were provided when we were on the game-driver within Tarangire National park. The quality of breakfast and dinner are reasonably good, but the quality of the lunch foods could be improved.

Our two-bedroom bungalow looks like a large mobile home that can sleep 3 persons only (one double, plus one single bed). The overall size is small, not even having space for a small coffee table. Compared to other lodges or hotels nearby, we found the Elephant lodge is a bit overpriced, considering the size of rooms and quality of the foods, in addition to the tips for the staff and extra government fee that is not indicated in the price when booking. There was only outside sitting in the restaurant, although a tent-roof covers the dinning area, it was cold and humid when having a meal while it was raining.

Le personnel adorable , les chambres spacieuses , la vue, et les repas type gastro très savoureux ! L’emplacement est parfait : à 5 minutes du parc de tarangire ! Idéale pour un safari en famille. Merci pour tout ! Hakuna matata 😊

De medewerkers waren super vriendelijk, en het eten was lekker.

Douche was altijd koud, geen zon overdag waardoor water niet opwarmde. Erg duur in verhouding.
