Babylone Marrakech

The apartment looks ok in pictures but in reality it's horrid. Nothing had been cleaned or checked before I arrived. There were broken bits of glass - dangerous - by the bed. Bathroom sink and floor were FILTHY. Dirty orange mats. Kitchen shutter didn't work. I woke up the first day planning to cook breakfast but the gas wasn't connected. The agent, "Soufian" claimed not to understand, said he'd be there by 12 & arrived at 3pm. Ruined my day. Day 2, I woke up to him banging on the front door, with a workman to fix the shutter and a new mirror he'd bought. Barged in. Zero manners. Said he'd called, but I switch my phone off at night so was not expecting them. I was glad they came to fix things, but all of it should have been done before I arrived. Especially considering I booked for 6 nights. Pretty basic, to make sure the shutters work, the gas is on and to CLEAN the place professionally. Why didn't he do it?

"Soufian" constantly messed me around. Said his "employer" the "owner" was Belgian, then made up a pack of lies when I requested 2 nights' refund, claiming I "damaged" items that were not working when I arrived! Total sharks. There was no shower curtain or separation in the bathroom, hence the room and toilet seat gets flooded each time you use the shower. The drains are blocked so, even when the floor is mopped, the water remains stagnant & unhygienic. In the kitchen, cheap plastic cutlery snapped in half when washed. I showed Soufian, he nodded like he knew they were rubbish, binned them, then claimed items like "spoons were missing" after I left. Beggars belief. The kitchen, then bedroom shutters didn't work, which meant I couldn't access the balcony for 2 days. Soufian advised me to keep my hand on the shutter button until it went up! I asked if he was joking? He wasn't. Eventually, the workman returned to sort the bedroom shutter and I watched him cut the ropes. Soufian has since accused me of "forcing and breaking the shutter." Unbelievable. LIAR. He also acted dumb when i told him the washing machine didn't drain or spin properly so all my clothes were heavy and soaking wet. Again, he said he "didn't understand," so I sent him an explanation, translated from French to Arabic. He refused to give me extra towels until Day 2, then had the nerve to claim I'd "soiled the bedspread and sheets" when I took photos of everything before leaving, showing all was cleaner and neater than when I arrived. HOW DARE HE LIE & TWIST REALITY? - Men like Soufian give Marrakech a bad name. Tourists, guests, STEER CLEAR. FYI: I made the mistake of booking Flat 9 in Block F. Other properties in the building are equally bad. All shared areas are filthy, many with bits of concrete, building materials and/ or overflowing rubbish. N.
