Mackenzie Hideaway

Very tidy clean spacious accomodation. Twizel has a lot to offer- restaurants and cafes close by, and lake Ruataniwha is lovely. Being between Tekapo and Mount Cook gives easy access to tourist areas and walks.

Not a major, as it’s clean and comfortable, but it’s the most “ no frills” property we’ve ever stayed at 😅The bare minimum has been put into it. Gravel driveway, nothing planted in the garden, and zero decorative features inside. Just beds which were a bit small for 2 people and not very comfortable, a large couch and an outside table and chairs. It has a kitchen bench with stools for 4 people to eat at, but no dining table for bigger groups inside the house. Ok for a couple of nights but would not have wanted to stay longer as it didn’t have very welcoming feel

House is located in a very quiet neighborhood, which we greatly appreciated. The kitchen was beautiful and very modern and had all necessary appliances to cook decent meals. All the rooms in the house were very clean and very well looked-after. Supermarket is just a 5 mins drive away by car. Parking is available right in front of the house. Beds were very comfortable (which for us means not soft but quite firm). Great location to stay if you want to visit Mt. Cook area, and also cheaper than staying at Mt. Cook village! Would absolutely stay there again.

Very clean and modern. Good water pressure and comfortable bed. Only a short walk into town. Easy check in and check out.

Could not get the cook job top to work. No instructions.

It was very clean and tidy. There are a lot of instructions so that you know exactly what to do. There was plenty of room for the 2 of us.

It was a bit far from the local town to walk.
