You were surrounded by trees and you felt you had escaped the city. It was wonderful!

The steps down the side of the house was a little dark to see. The little balcony was slippery. Just needed a water blast, no big deal.

Feels like you are totally alone in your own little retreat. Perfect location to walk to the All Blacks game at Eden Park.

Hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Parking was on the road not on site - as advertising states. In saying that there was not an issue of finding a park on the road but when you search specifically for a property that states "on site "that's what you expect. From a health and safety point - better lighting would be an advantage. The host kindly left lights on in their dwelling which made going down the narrow steps to the studio easier but lights on the outside of the studio would be helpful at night when having to access the separate bathroom.

Close proximity to where we wanted

Shower/toilet room was not attached to bedroom area. Had to go outside to a building next door. A bit like motor camp facilities. Also to get to accommodation is down the side of the house not well lit no handrail. Dangerous at night. plants overgrown trip hazard. Poor/no outside lighting. Outside chairs filthy. Potential for sitting outside ruined by filthy seating.

Absolutely Beautiful place to stay the night, I arrived at night, and the studio was warm and cosy after a afternoon of travelling, thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities, it was like i was in Bali as it had that tropical vibe, it was peaceful and safe, I wouldn't recommend for anyone who might be less mobile as there is a few stairs, but I would highly recommend anyone else who is wanting something abit different. I would definetely return for a longer stay 😁 PS I wanted to hop into the pool but didn't know if I could, even though it was a chilly night, if there is water nearby I'm usually in there, summer or winter, Thank you so much for the stay.

Good location. Cosy feel, heating available. Tea and coffee, also microwave supplied. Hosts always amenable to anything we might need. Free WIFI always welcome. Good ambience.

Access to the property was via side steps which was unlit and uneven difficult with heavy suitcases . This information was not mentioned in the listing. There is a small pool which is not used but not fenced in. Unless the main house had lights on the whole area was dark at night. Someone with mobility issues would have issues with the steps and the slope. The installation of sensor lights would be ideal and a safety feature. Also the overall look of the property gives the feel that the hosts don't take care of the maintenance of their own property outside. Presentation and information is important!

I enjoyed the feeling of being amongst the greenery and planting, hearing gorgeous bird song, which made the accommodation feel private and as though I was in the topics. The separate bathroom area was quite cool. Bed was very comfy.

Lighting wasn't great, inside and out. Just one main light in the room which meant the other half of the room was very dark. I did appreciate the owners leaving a temporary lamp when I enquired. Outside lighting really needed to improve: there was no outdoor lighting save what came from the main house, when the owners were up. Given that the accommodation was down the back of the property, tucked in amongst the dark planting, heading down the narrow paths at night was tricky. I left the accommodation very early in the morning to get to the airport and I didn't like having to navigate from the back of the property with my luggage in the pitch black, down narrow paths and up various steps.

Uniquely different in a suburb so close to Auckland CBD. Very quiet with a feeling of being on a tropical island holiday. Very clean and well presented. It was all good and we were very comfortable. Lots of restaurants less than 15 min walk away. A great find for a place to stay while visiting our son now attending Auckland university and living just around the corner. Without doubt this place will become our regular. Loved it! Thanks Guys, Brian & Michelle
