Siayanrock Hometel

Siayanrock Hometel was the “home away from home”. The hosts, Robert and Ofel went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable yet relaxing as possible. Our guides and Robert were keen to share Ivatan culture and history and how resilient the Ivatan people are in times of typhoons, lack of shipments from the mainland, lack of digital communication and transport. Robert kept abreast of the weather and recommended the best day and times to go to the different tours. A treat was a visit to their hideaway viewpoint available only to their guests. The location in Ivana was away from Basco so it was more quiet and a good central location for tours. They took care of everything so all we had to do was enjoy “Breathtaking Batanes” and take in the beautiful seascapes and landscapes.

The location is exceptional; Ivana town will give you the serenity that every travellers is looking for and enjoy the most. The owner will treat you as a family and offer the best during your stay. They will let you see the ocean view of Batanes thru the viewdeck that is exclusive for Siayanrock guests. They even give free bike ride, free transport from airport to hometel (vice versa) and even to sabtang port.

I cannot say enough wonderful things not only about this hotel and the owners, Robert and Ofel, but also about Batanes as a whole. Batanes is full of warm, welcoming, kind, and honest people. It is so refreshing to be in a community with zero crime where they leave their belongings out at night and don't lock their doors. Everyone says hello and even the kids are respectful. The islands were beautiful. Ofel and Robert will arrange trips all around and also to Sabtang. They also transfer you to and from the airport for free. Ofel cooks three meals a day and there was no additional charge; it felt like being with family. Honestly, don't stay anywhere else! I'm a digital nomad and I needed to work; the wifi signal didn't quite reach my room but I worked at the table in the multipurpose room without issues.

There is absolutely nothing not to like about this hotel or the island. I'm in love. I want to live there forever!

My girlfriend and I had an unforgettable holiday here. The hotel provides free airport pick-up and drop-off service; atr and kuya is friendly; the room is very clean; the food is very delicious; and it is a great value for money. I recommend you stay here in this beautiful island.

None. Everything was perfect.

The place is newly built so it’s very clean. WiFi access was very strong. The room was spacious and the bathroom was very clean with fully functioning heated shower. The owners, Robert and Ofel, were excellent hosts. We were treated not like guests but more like family. On our second day, Robert took us to his private view deck for a sunset coffee. I really felt a personal connection with them during our stay. In terms of Batanes, it’s a small island that is very clean and very pristine. The people are all friendly, honest and very disciplined. In my 4 day stay, I quickly fell in love with the people and the place. It would have been a perfect retirement place if outsiders were welcomed. By that I learned, tourists are always welcome but you can only acquire properties there if you’re a native Ibatan or married to one. Overall, I would rate my stay there 5 stars. I will definitely plan to come back for a longer stay and Siayanrock will be on top of the list.

We had a wonderful stay at Siayanrock Hometel. The hosts were incredibly accommodating, and the place was spotless and well-maintained. It’s the ideal location in Batanes, especially if you plan to visit Sabtang Island, as it’s close to the port and much quieter than North Batan. We loved their private view deck (a 10 minute drive from the hometel), where we enjoyed scenic breakfasts and sunsets with coffee. I also appreciated the good Wi-Fi, which allowed me to sneak in some work during the quiet evenings. Loved that they had bicycles for us to use, for free. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely return on our next visit.

The Location and the Locals in the community.

Nothing not to like!! But would like to suggest to add a more unique experience by having personal food choices and be able to buy and cook local fresh produce from the neighbouring market stalls and be able to cook or learn native/traditional foods in the area.
