Pohutukawa Cottage

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Pohutukawa Cottage! The cottage was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location is perfect—so close to the beach and everything else we needed, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Check-in was super easy, and the communication throughout was excellent. You can tell a lot of care has gone into making this a welcoming and well-equipped space. Another highlight was fresh Feijoas on the ground ready to eat💞 Feijoas are like Gold in Perth. Could not fault anything at all

Host was friendly and very helpful. The property was very clean and well stocked. I loved the fejoia tree. Beach was just a short walk out the back gate.

The tv instructions were a bit too complex and one of the guests got rope burn from the pillow on the single bed.

Cutlery could do with an upgrade and maybe some bowls for salad/chips etc.

Amazing place to stay, great location for the kids with the tennis courts, ocean and 4square so close. Equipped with everything, cute garden and great deck. Will definitely come back again next time we are there.

Only dislike was the bed in the master was sunk in, a new mattress would fix it.

My husband and I booked Pohutukawa Cottage for a two-night weekend escape to celebrate my birthday, and we were pleasantly surprised right from arrival. This cosy, self-contained cottage felt like a true home away from home – comfortable furniture, everything we needed in the kitchen and living areas, and plenty of space to unwind. The air conditioning was an absolute godsend during our stay, as the weather was extremely hot, keeping us cool and comfortable indoors. Best of all, you can see the beach from the cottage, and it's literally a one-minute walk out the side gate to the stunning sands of Ohope Beach – pure bliss for morning strolls and sunset views. The owner lives next door and was lovely and friendly when we chatted briefly, but otherwise gave us complete privacy, which we really appreciated. Great value for money, especially for the prime location and amenities. Ideal for couples or small groups – we'd definitely stay here again if we're back in the Ohope area. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a peaceful, beach-close retreat!

A milk in the fridge would have been nice but not a big deal. Can't think of anything I wasn't happy about.
