Seester Strandhuis

Loved the location. Was clean, neat and had a great braai/fire facility. Comfy pillows and sheets and felt safe and secure. Lovely host.

I didn’t know that sometimes the braai area/ fire area was shared.

Breakfast was not included. A short walk through the garden and you were on the beach.

Unfortunately there was no view of the sea from the unit. It is situated behind high bush.

Location was excellent as expected

The door lock on the security gate needs replacing. It is very difficult to open with the damaged key provided. The owner knows about this but has not fixed it yet. She is waiting to accumulate enough repairs to call someone out to replace the lock & do other work

Wonderful place in a perfect location. Hilde was a lovely and accommodating host. I loved being able to walk out the door and down the short path directly onto the beach.

First of all: we didn't get the room we booked. Apparently there was an overlap of two bookings. The only strange thing is that we didn't see any other guests or a guest's car during the two days. Regardless, we couldn't understand how the very good rating - which we had relied on when booking - came about. It is obvious that the accommodation and its amenities have seen better days. We noticed this more and more over the two days. The fridge was superficially clean, but the seal was completely dirty and disgusting. The fan in the bedroom was completely full of dust, so we decided not to turn it on at night. Unfortunately, the bedding was not covered with the typical South African linen, so it was uncomfortably warm at night. Even if you don't necessarily need a bathtub in South Africa, it is not a sign of cleanliness if the tap is dirty or rusty. The shower tiles were unsightly. The bed frame of the bed in the living area was very old. The window area facing the garden was dirty. The entire garden was unkempt.
