TROPICANA homestay

The facilities and the room were very clean and you can see they take very good care of the building (this is not the usual in the area, most of the other hotels in this street are falling apart and have poor maintenance). Great location. The staff was nice, we booked last minute and they accommodated us immediately.

Cô chú chủ home rất uy tín, thân thiện, cảm giác như quen lâu rồi vậy đó. Cô chú nhiệt tình lắm. Mình đặt phòng xong nhắn tin cho cô chú để xác nhận và hỏi đường đi, hỏi thời tiết, rất yên tâm. Mình có lên FB xem fanpage và thấy khác thì cô có bảo là page đó không dùng nữa nên yên tâm hẳn. Phòng ốc thì đẹp, đầy đủ tiện nghi, chỉ ko có tủ lạnh thôi. Giá cả hợp lý và quan trọng là ở ngay trung tâm, quá tiện lợi. 10/10

Clean room Into the centre Nice host, speaks English Mountain view

The room is different from the picture, it looks like a cheap hotel than a homestay. I booked in Booking for 587000 but when I come to the homestay the owner charged me 100000 more because he said I booked it beforehand so it is cheaper. I rented a motorbike and he said I can't park it in his parking infront of the house since it is not the one renting from him. Room look like cheap hotel, bad experience. Btw his daughter is very nice.

The location is great if you want to stay in the center. The owner of the homestay is very nice and helpful, plus he speaks really good English. The room is spacious and shower has hot water (important since it can be quite muggy in Cat ba).

Due to the weather it was very humid in the room (my microfiber towel didn't dry within two days...). So even though the room itself was decent (actually wasn't the room on the picture, but I didn't care), the humidity made it quite uncomfortable. I guess it’s a problem for everybody in the area, bc the laundry I had done via the homestay came back all smelly like when you leave wet clothes in the machene for too long after washing. The boiler made a really loud noise after either I or someone upstairs (?) took a shower.

Great location in the heart of town where everything is, but off to a side street so it is quiet. Rooms seem newly renovated with a simple and clean interior design (I really like the wooden look). Mattress is memory foam and I found it comfortable. The manager Hien is really nice and helpful and speaks English well. I felt well taken care of and would definitely return!

The climate here is humid so the room always feels wet and has a slight smell of mold. Visible mold in the bathroom and AC vent
