Oh my goodness, let's start with the breakfast! Our host - and I am at a loss to remember her name, sorry; was an absolute delight, friendly, full of helpful local advice and a fantastic cook. Breakfast in the dining room with a fire going was truly scrumptious and such a nice start to the day. The room was spacious with a gorgeous patio and the very beautifully designed garden had wonderful views of the mountain.

A beautiful property in a stunning, peaceful setting. Very comfortable and impeccably clean. Loved the furnishings which reflect the historic nature of the building. Being hosted by the delightful, professional, friendly and helpful Julia made this stay special. Superb breakfast too

Beautiful room and and exceptional view. It was nice and quiet. The service was wonderful and the staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend staying there.

The photos on Booking.com were beautiful and we looked forward to staying there.

Our stay at this guesthouse was unfortunately one of the worst we’ve experienced. From the moment we arrived at 17:00, we struggled to even gain entry—there was no clear signage indicating the entrance, and it took a long time to find someone to open the gate. The staff were consistently rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. Check-in was difficult and disorganized. Breakfast was not freely available as advertised—we were forced to choose a time slot, which defeated the purpose of a relaxing stay. On our second day, our room key was locked inside the room, and there was no staff member on site to assist. Reaching someone by phone was nearly impossible, and when we finally got through, the person told us she only handles reservations and was two hours away. Eventually, the so-called “manager” appeared and literally climbed through a fence near the swimming pool, she seems to live in a shack in the veld behind the pool. The room itself was disappointing: flickering lights, a constantly running toilet, and poor cleaning standards, old worn towels. We also couldn’t sleep due to the loud traffic noise from the road nearby. Breakfast portions were laughably small—we took photos because we genuinely couldn’t believe it. The pool area was not guest-ready either. Umbrellas and chairs were still covered in tarps, with no effort made to create a welcoming space. Overall, this was not a guesthouse in any real sense of the word. It was inhospitable, unprofessional, and stressful. We would not recommend it to anyone.

The staff were very welcoming, the room was warm and inviting and the breakfast was exceptional. The freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious.

I loved Julia. She was very friendly and helpful. We had to leave early the next morning and she made us lovely sandwiches for the road. Comfortable and clean rooms. Everything was good. I will stay there again and will recommend this guesthouse.
