Yzerfontein Memories

The location was absolutely breath taking. It was like we were in a completely different country.

No breakfast as it is a self catering unit. Retha was a lovely host and nothing was too much trouble. the unit has comfortable beds and the children absolutely loved the bunk beds. they built forts with blankets and they really enjoyed their stay. There is a selection of christian books on the shelf which I loved. I found a Joyce Meyer book which i enjoyed. The attention to detail on having almost every possible crockery and cutlery available was amazing. gas stove and oven so was a pleasure to cook and even load shedding sensor lights that were charged and on with sensors in for when someone walked through the house at night. they apartment even has a washing machine and a dishwashing machine which was very much appreciated for when we wanted to wash towels and clothes. Spar and restaurants close by and beach not too far.. we walked.

small things (bathroom door got stuck and child panicked.) the bathroom door handle opens from the outside but not the inside. I could not find pegs to hang my washing up and there was one very windy day, The biggest downfall for me on this property was the fact that there is only 1 main outside braai and there are two units separated with different entrances right opposite each other so there is not complete privacy unless you are in the unit - this was a bit of a letdown as we felt incredibly bad that on night one we braaied, night two we saw another grid outside and realized that it was indeed 1 shared braai facility. the other unit fetched their braai grid and we felt very bad because we did not know. I messaged the host Retha and she told the other unit that they could braai the following day. the following day it was gail force winds so I felt even worse because if they had planned to braai they then could not. Retha perhaps needs to state on her advertising that it is a shared outside braai with two conjoined units adjacent from one another so that people who do want complete privacy are not sharing property space.. other than that everything else was perfect.

It was a perfectly equipped accommodation. The bed was really comfortable and the accommodation was clean and well maintained. The owner Retha is friendly and we will definitely be back next time.

Had a fabulous time. Retha was very helpful, kind and friendly. I will return any time again. The place is spacious and very clean. Located very well. Had the most amazing sunset.

No complaints.

We were made to feel very welcome. Retha is a lovely person who went over and above expectations to make sure felt at home. The facilities were great with plenty of space and peaceful surroundings.

It could accommodate us all. it had all the necessary amenities.

The space in the last room, with the bunks, was rather small but it’s okay since we didn’t spend time in that room.
