Noordoewer Guesthouse

The setting of the guesthouse is really beautiful with stunning garden and many well thought out viewing points. Really pleasant helpful staff and good prices for food and beverages. Beds comfortable and clean and lovely fluffy towels.

Dinner was a choice of crumbed pork chop or lamb chops. We chose lamb chops and received a large slab of leg chop that was crumbed. Not the way to do lamb. Two lion or rib chops grilled would have been perfect and met our expectations. Otherwise nicely presented and tasty veggies.

Best was the food

Seems like maintenance is taking a backseat , certainly has deteriorated since last stay. Toilet was leaking water continuously, not being able to turn off, disturbing sleep. Water in shower very poor , ultimately stopped running totally, preventing a proper shower in the morning. Toilet seat damaged , needs to be replaced. Air conditioning not effective, especially there is no window in bedroom to compensate. Missing / non working bulbs in Restaurant , result being very dark on table , no table lamps or similar to compensate. Breakfast bag in lieu of breakfast, toasted sandwich not edible

Great stop over for people traveling to or from Namibia. Staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it friends and family.

The internet/wifi in our room didn't really work. The food was delicious but there were only 2 options so it could get complicated for people with dietary restrictions.

Noordoewer Guest House is perfectly located if you're crossing the border regardless of the direction, late in the afternoon. It offers safe and comfortable accommodation and very good meals (dinner & breakfast), after a long drive. We stayed there upon entering Namibia, and upon departing, + 1 extra night. Perfectly positioned. Good value. Good food and a good night's sleep. We had a day to spare before heading home to Cape Town, so we booked in for an extra night, and used Noordoewer as a base that we returned to after scooting up to Ai- Ais and the Start of the Fish River Canyon, for the day.

The garden area and close proximity to border.

The wifi was non existent in the rooms and the rooms we stayed in need some work done
