A truly magical farm guest house set in the most incredible surroundings, with breathtaking views in every direction. The peaceful atmosphere made for a perfect escape, even for just one night. The honesty shop was a lovely touch, and arriving to fresh bread and homemade jam was such a warm and thoughtful welcome. An ideal overnight stop on the route to the Cape — we would highly recommend it and would love to return for a longer stay.”

Beautiful and quiet, relaxing spot in the Karoo. Great for dogs. Delicious fresh bread waiting for us on arrival. Well stocked honesty store. Wish we had stayed for longer.

Steynskraal is a DESTINATION, not just a stopover, DON‘T miss out on a life changing experience!! The Stal had all a modern family could possibly need, but there, in the heart of the harsh Karoo it was truly treasured. Freshly baked bread and farm style eggs, butter and preserves, just YUMMY. And then the quality Karoo meat: braais were a treat, and the braai itself so well constructed, it really made a difference. The little shop with local and farm products was a true gem. The photographs are 100% accurate, but Steynskraal has so much more charm, so much to offer. We were taken on an exploratory drive to learn of its history and nature, even did a 27km MTB trail on the farm - so much is possible, including reading on varied topics, stargazing, dramatic sunsets and cooling down in the pool. A destination never to be forgotten: what an awesome introduction to South Africa’s beautiful Karoo!!
